SmartTech Polyurethane Technology (STP)SmartTech™ Polyurethane Technology (STP) is Smart Step’s revolutionary and proprietary engineered material system. It is the key to Smart Step® comfort, performance and longevity. STP allows our thick elastomeric and resilient core to permanently bond with our thin abrasion/stain/microbial resistant outer layer because both are made from the same cross-linked polyurethane molecules. The molecules bond (permanently) using a process called thermosetting. What STP means for you is that the comfort and longevity of our mats are permanently locked into every fiber; they will never delaminate or curl at the edges. Because of this superior technology, Smart Step® mats will remain buoyant and resilient for many years.

The core of STP is polyurethane – the gold standard for anti-fatigue mats. It is more expensive than other commonly used materials, but it provides exceptional value over time. Smart Step® mats have an extended life cycle, making them environmentally friendly.

Unlike mats made of foams, vinyls or PVC, Smart Step® mats are resistant to almost everything and do not lose their ‘bounce’ over time, thus always suspending the body weight. Many of our competitors’ products compress or lose their bounce within the first year of use. Custom Embossed MatsSmart Step® will create a custom mold using a relief pattern process. The result is an embossed mat that can feature your company's name, logo, message or even a custom pattern. The embossing is shallow enough (⅛") that it does not trap debris, so mats continue to be easy to clean and maintain.
