Our demonstration systemsOur demonstration systems• AI Group: Query Classification System

– http://q2c.cs.ust.hk/q2c/– Winning Entry for the KDDCup 2005 Competition– Aims to predict the true category of user issued queries

• DB Group: GPUQP (Query Co-Processing Using Graphics Processors)

– http://www.cse.ust.hk/gpuqp/– GPUs can be regarded as massively parallel processors with 10x higher

computation and 10x higher memory performance than CPUs.– We explore in-memory query co-processing using GPUs to fully exploit their

architectural features.

Our demonstration systemsOur demonstration systems• NE Group: Coolstreaming

– 1st Large Scale P2P Live Video Streaming System Worldwide– Google Entries over 1,000,000 in 2008.– Its underlying technology has laid the foundation for many popular commercial

systems like PPLive and PPStream.• VG Group: Skeleton Extraction

– A fundamental problem with many applications in computer graphics and visualization

– A simple and robust skeleton extraction method based on mesh contraction is studied.
