RECIPE: Macaroni Cheese Easy Approx 30 minutes Serves 1 INGREDIENTS EQUIPMENT NEEDED 80g Macaroni or other pasta 1 tablespoon butter 1 garlic clove ½ teaspoon English mustard powder 1 ½ tablespoons plain flour 150ml whole milk 120g cheddar cheese, grated 20g parmesan cheese, grated Scales Measuring spoons Knife Chopping boards Garlic press Medium Saucepan x 2 Wooden Spoon or spatula Grater Colander METHOD STEP ONE Ensure all of your ingredients are prepped and ready to go as stated in the list above. STEP TWO Boil the kettle and then fill a saucepan and put onto the heat. Cook your pasta in the boiling water according to packet instructions. STEP THREE Melt the butter in another saucepan. When melted ass the garlic and mustard powder and cook for 1 minute. STEP FOUR Stir in the flour to the butter mixture and cook for another minute. STEP FIVE Gradually whisk in the milk a little at a time until you have a lump free sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes, whisking all the time until it is nice and thick. STEP SIX Take the sauce off the heat and stir in the grated cheddar and parmesan cheeses. STEP SEVEN When the pasta is cooked, drain it and then stir into the cheese sauce so it is evenly covered. You can serve like this or follow the next step… OPTIONAL Put the pasta into an oven proof dish and sprinkle with a little more grated cheese.
