Member’s PoetryI FORGOT TO LOOK

I forgot to look,and the world turned green;

Busy with choresmy focus was 'other' . . .

So the blossoms camewhile I did tasks,

Concerned with 'work' -I lost the magic.

An Earth Day. pledge: "this time next yearwill fine me LOOKING

as the world turns green."

The Rev. Dr. Kelly Murphy Mason, who interned at Community Church as a seminary student and was ordained here, was installed on April 7 as the settled Senior Minister at the UU Societyof Wellesley Hills. By Virginia Asman

Out last gallery exhibit of the church year closes on June 15, 6-8 pm. BLUE is the third in a series of exhibits which move around the color wheel. Earlier exhibits featured Green and Red. In this exhibit, artists explore the rich possibilities of the color blue from blue moods to beautiful blues.

We are very excited to report that the Artists’ Reception of the show is featured on YOUTUBE!

A link to the video is on the church website home page

Looking ahead to 2019/2020, we will open with our annual Social Justice Show. Again, we will be working in cooperation with Kim Westcott from the Community Service Society (CSS) to coincide with their second conference at Community Church in October: Full Participation is a Human Right—Moving Beyond Punishment. This year’s theme is 400 Years of Perseverance. (CSS is participating in the Association for the Study of African American Life and History’s (ASASLH) year-long commemorative events focusing on America since 1619 and the first African to arrive at Jamestown.) The conference and exhibit should prove to be a very powerful event!

Gallery35 will again install a Summer Exhibit for late June through August, featuring work from previous shows to enliven the walls of the gallery. Although we have planned no receptions, we hope those using the gallery for meetings and gatherings will enjoy the art.Please do stop to see the work!
