Wood Carvings from the holy city of Bethlehem will be here to sell their products this weekend of Nov. 5-6. Their products make a nice Christmas present and support our Christian brothers and sisters in the Holy Land.

Thank you to our Grounds Beautification Committee, headed by Rudy Schwarz, for the beautiful job they did around the rectory last Saturday.

Thank you to the Knights of Columbus who were so generous with their Stewardship of Time, Talent, and Treasure last Sunday in serving breakfast to our parishioners after each Mass!

STEWARDSHIP - Little Seeds Grow Into Better Things: Stewardship asks us, not are our talents big enough, but how do we faithfully use the talents we have, no matter how insignificant they may seem. By thinking our gifts must be perfect, we over-look important ways we can serve our church.

Mary As Queen: A Catechetical Series (continuation)

It is not surprising that the early writers of the Church called Mary "the Mother of the King" and "the Mother of the Lord," basing their stand on the words of St. Gabriel the archangel, who foretold that the Son of Mary would reign forever, (Lk 1:26-33) and on the words of Elizabeth who greeted her with reverence and called her "the Mother of my Lord." (Lk. 1:42-43). Pope Pius XII concluded through his apostolic authority, “Thereby, they clearly signified that she derived a certain eminence and exalted station from the royal dignity of her Son.” (Ad Caeli Reginam #9) (To be continued...)

Please join us Monday, November 7th at 7:00 pm in the Church for the fifth week of Novena as we pray and reflect on Mary Queen of Virgins and of all Saints. Mary exemplified perfect chastity and total surrender to God as the Ever-Virgin before, during and after giving birth to Christ. These are the people who are washed by the blood of the Lamb.

Queen of Virgins and of All Saints, *Pray for us.

In Christ through Mary, Fr. Charez (Don) B. Gringco.

Our Lady Queen of Peace will be selling pre-lit artificial Christmas trees (Over 20 more trees than last year), wreaths and garlands in our auditorium. Through the generosity of one of our parishioners all proceeds will be donated to our parish. Credit cards accepted. Sign up sheet for help is in vestibule of church.

HELP NEEDED! CHRISTMAS DECOR SALE

We are in need of volunteers for 2-hour shifts during the weekend of November 19th and 20th. One of our parishioners has AGAIN very generously donated truckloads of artificial pre-lit Christmas trees, Wreaths, Garlands, and other decorations for us to sell at 100% profit to the parish, just as he did last year. We will be advertising in newspapers, surrounding parish bulletins, and have a banner on our property to invite people to come in. These items are being sold at greatly-reduced prices and we anticipate a huge turnout.

We need your help. Please consider offering your Stewardship of Time to help us "man" the sale that weekend. Call the office 201 845-9566, ext. 101, or sign your name on the sheet in the vestibule of church to sign up for 2-hour shifts, beginning at 10 AM on Saturday until 6 PM, and on Sunday from 8 AM to 3 PM.

Together we can make this fundraiser a huge success again! Fr. Larry

SILENT NIGHTS - The Season of Advent is a time of expectation, preparing for the re-birth of the Christ child in our hearts. The Season of Advent is often lost and frequently becomes a time for shopping. We are trying to regain something of that which has been lost. The Quiet! Silence! Times for Prayer! So, we invite you to come here to join us for Advent Silent Nights. What is a Silent Night? Silent Nights are nights of reflection, quiet, solitude right here at Our Lady Queen of Peace. We invite you to come to church where there will be sacred music and candlelight and time to get in touch with our Divine Lord. Come pray! Come read the Bible! Come and just be alone for a while. Silent Nights will be here in church from 7 PM to 9 PM on the evenings of November 30, December 7, & 14. All are invited!

A PRAYER AT ELECTION TIME

O Lord, Our Just and Loving Father, We thank you for the precious gift of Human Life that is greatly threatened by the Culture of Death. Aware of the dangers we are now facing, We ask that You guide us in electing the leaders Our nation truly needs: -Leaders with the wisdom to discern your providential plan, -Leaders who understand the weakness of the human condition, -Leaders who counsel our citizens to respect the rule of law, -Leaders with the fortitude to face their opponents with grace, -Leaders with knowledge of our Constitution and of natural rights, -Leaders whose piety makes them aware of their own limitations, -And leaders whose reverential fear informs their moral judgment. We pray that the inalienable rights To life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, Promised by our founders, May be preserved, protected, and defended for all, Especially the most vulnerable members of our society. Almighty and Merciful God, Sustain us in our struggle to live in peace As one nation under God. Amen.
