Delineocoordinatedthesocialmediaactivityfortheday,updatingaTwitterfeedforthepublicitystunt@ManchesterSanta,whilealsoencouragingthepublicandinstitutionsaroundManchestertointeractwiththecampaignviathesocialnetwork.
Santa invades Manchester
Thesocialmediaactivityraninconjunctionwiththereal-worldprogress,chartingSanta’sroutethroughphotographsandvideossentfromtheteamsoutonthestreets.ThesephotographswerethenbroadcastviaTwitterandFlickr,thelattergaining,812uniquephotoviewsduringtheday.
TheTwitteraccountutilisedthepopularityofthesocialnetworkwithlocalorganisationstogainretweetsandmentionsduringthedayand,inall,342,773Twitteraccountswereexposedtomessagesfromthe
ManchesterSantaprofileoverThursday.Similarly,theaccountalsoreceived199Twitterrepliesacrossthesevenhoursofthecampaign.
Overalltheamountofsign-upsforthecharityrunhadincreaseddramaticallywith769pageviewsontheday,anincreaseof646%toTheSantaDashsign-uppageincomparisontothepreviousday.
