Perm is the sixth largest city in the Russian Federation. It lies on the Kama River and the city is stretched along the river for more than 80 km.

Embankment of the Kama river

The main symbol of our region (it is on the Perm coat of arms)

“Perm’ is a great city to visit because it’s not just a city near the Ural Mountains with a lot of snow in winter, but it’s a place which is striving for the title of the cultural capital of Russia.”

“The broad esplanade running from the city’s main square has become the site of almost continuous international art, theater and music fairs during the summer.”

“Perm is known for its famous ballet company. The Perm Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre is one of the oldest and most distinguished art companies in Russia.”

“Another must-see is the State Art Gallery. It has a unique collection of religious wooden sculptures that date back to the 17th century.”

“One of the most beautiful buildings on the bank of the Kama river is the house of the steam navigator Meshkov. Together with some other buildings of historical significance in Sibirskaya Street, it can tell us about the development of Perm city.

“There are lots of interesting, creative and unusual art objects to see”.

“Gorky Park has a Ferris wheel which is 50 m in diameter. You can enjoy a great view of our city.”

“If you take a local train and get off at the first stop, you will find yourself at Kamskaya Hydroelectric power plant (Hydro power station). This trip might become a good adventure. It’s an amazing place where you can experience different emotions. It shows you how small you are because the plant is huge and you are like an ant near it.

“In the evening you can take a pretty picture of the Kama river and the phrase ‘Happiness is near”.
