Page 2: The Circuit Rider€¦ · devotionals by Neil S. Wilson, 2002. When I am committed to the Scripture readings and reflections, my faith increase along with my wisdom. What resources

I remember when summer days were lazy. Going to the swimming pool, hanging out all days with my friends. Now-a-days summers are just as busy as rest of the year with plenty of activities for families to do, work to be done and places to go.

I pray that each of you find some time this summer to slow down, reconnect with your loved one and find a time to relax. May God add a blessing on all that you do and may you remember to dedicated all that you do to our God who loves us even when we sometimes get too busy to spend time with Him. Speaking of being busy and needing blessings, I will be away from the church these days in July: July 4 & 5 – Celebrating the Fourth with family July 8-12 – Kansas City for Course of Study July 15-18 – Family Vacation Also please be in prayer for our youth and sponsors as they venture to Puerto Rico for mission work, July 20-27.

Blessings for needed Peace & Rest this summer, Pastor Joe

People may doubt what you say but they will always believe what you do.

There are certainly many variations of that phrase! As Christians, what we do and what we say matters. I am grateful that I was raised with some pretty wise people — my grandmothers, my parents, aunts & uncles…their collective experiences shaped the wisdom that they lived out and imparted on those around them.

I shared recently on 5-Minute Monday that one of my favorite books is The One Year Book of Proverbs, devotionals by Neil S. Wilson, 2002. When I am committed to the Scripture readings and reflections, my faith increase along with my wisdom. What resources have you found that are life-giving for your faith, hope and love? When we find these resources, we hang onto them and we allow ourselves to be nurtured and strengthened by them! I believe that is what wisdom literature does for us — nurtures and strengthens our spirits so that we can be the people God has called us to be. May we be wise! See you in Church! Rev. Cindi

Four weekend worship services: same Wisdom From Above.

As we journey through the month of July, Rev. Cindi & Pastor Joe will be sharing preaching responsibilities among the four services (with different configurations for many of the summer weekends) with the SAME theme of “wisdom from above” from the Letter of James. These ancient words from James, the brother of Jesus, spoke to the early Christian community and continue to teach us today.

These words of wisdom can inspire your faith, hope & love and strengthen your relationship with God and with one another. This summer, seek the wisdom of God and remember: Good things come to those who wait (upon the Lord).
