Postcard Campaign to Protect Viable Babies

This weekend people in our parish are signing postcards to send to their representatives in Trenton (one NJ State Senator and two Assembly Members) to ask them to support the

“NJ Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” (A-1686/S-537) which would protect babies in the womb at 20 weeks (5 months) and beyond. Babies at this stage can feel excruciating pain. Seventeen states have already passed this bill. We need to pass it in New Jersey! Also, “baby feet” car magnets are available for a suggested donation of $5. The “baby feet” symbol shows we are in solidarity with babies in the womb and their families. For more postcards or magnets please contact Maggie Sori at 379-238-1344 or [email protected].

Sharing God’s Blessings Annual Appeal 2019

Last weekend started the 2019 Sharing God’s Blessings Annual Appeal. This campaign provides the necessary resources to sustain Archdiocesan programs

and ministries. Our parish goal this year is $93,940. Please be as generous as possible. Thank you for any help you can provide. If you choose to donate online, please visit www.rcan.org/sharing. Pledge envelopes are found at the exits.

If you are able to help serve from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, please sign up on the poster in the Narthex of the church. I’m sure you will find it a great experience.

Update on the Capital Campaign for the Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament:

Founded on the Past, Focused on the Future

Thank you to so many donors who have supported our Capital Campaign! A letter acknowledging all contributions made in calendar year 2018 already has been sent to all donors for tax accounting purposes. We are grateful that you are fulfilling your pledges!

With the assistance of the legal, insurance, and property management departments of the Archdiocese of Newark, we are finalizing the architectural contract with T.M. Rybak and Associates. Mr. Rybak has helped us with the design for the Community Center and the Blessed Mother Chapel as well the renovations and improvements in the interior of the existing worship space. The firm will also provide oversight during the construction phase of the project.

Please check the bulletin for continued updates on our progress. Many thanks for your prayers and support. Through the intercession of Saint Joseph, and Mary, our Good Mother, may God bless you.

Father John Job

On Sunday, February 3rd, Ray Boswell, the potter from Sugarloaf, gave the Home Study and Summer class children a wonderful lesson on the Mass and why it is so important to keep God in their lives. Ray also presented the Blessing Cup retreat for our First Holy Communion candidates. He used his potter’s wheel along with a slide show to involve the children in his presentation. Each Communion Candidate decorated a chalice to commemorate their special day. We had a wonderful turnout of more than 200 people total for the retreats. Thank you all for coming.

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?’ ‘Here I am,’ I said, ‘send me!’” (Isaiah 6:8)

Every day, in little ways and in big ways, God asks, “Whom shall I send?” Whether it is someone to take on a new ministry, to give a friendly smile to a stranger or say a word of encouragement to a friend, God constantly provides opportunities to help someone in need. The next time you hear God calling, have the courage to walk through the door and say: "Here I am, Lord."
