Then they learned that the Lord had spoken to Paul and he had preached openly in Damascus. When they learned that someone wanted to kill him, they protected him because they fully believed he had converted. Second Reading: I John 3:18-24 John clearly states that we must love one another. All people who believe in Jesus Christ can show their faith only through their actions. If people believe in Jesus and love one another as he commanded us, they prove that they are true believers in Christ. Gospel: John 15:1-8 Jesus compares himself to a vine, and compares his father to the vine-grower. He explains how God prunes the barren branches so that the rest might yield more fruit. He reminds them that apart from himself, his followers could not bear fruit. Dear Parishioners, I haven't spoke about this in quite some time, 2018 Sharing God's Blessings Annual Appeal is underway. We have $10,039.00 already pledged. This is approximately 5% of our goal of $53,204.00. The outpouring of support from many parishioners like you helps sustain the important ministries across the Archdiocese of Newark. These programs help to make our own parish a more vibrant place to worship. Our goal of $53,204.00, can only be achieved through YOUR generosity! Italian Masses St. Theresa’s is proud to announce a memorial Mass in Italian with multiple intentions, which will be celebrated on the first Friday of every month at 6:30 PM.

Senior Citizen Prom Saints Michael and Theresa Youth Ministry will be sponsoring a “Senior Citizen” Prom for the Senior Citizen members of BOTH parish communities. The date of this year’s event is Saturday May 19th and will go from 6:30 pm until 9pm in McVeigh Hall (School Gym) at St. Theresa’s. The night will include dinner, music, games and more. So that we can properly prepare we ask that if you would like to join us that you please RSVP to the Youth Ministry Office either via email at [email protected] or at 276-5990 with the number of guests no later than May 15th.

Mothers Day Flower Sale The Youth Ministry Program will be sponsoring a Mother’s Day Flower Sale at St. Michael Parish on the front lawns of the school the weekend May 12th and 13th. Assorted Flowers and hanging baskets will be on sale. Hours will be 9am to 6:30pm on Saturday and 8am to 1:30pm on Sunday. All funds collected will benefit the Youth Ministry Program.

Eucharistic Adoration We will continue Eucharistic Adoration, in the Chapel, on Mondays from 12:30pm-7:30pm. We need Adorers to be present with Our Lord for the following times; 12:30-1:30, 1:30-2:30, 2:30-3:30, 3:30-4:30, 4:30-5:30, 5:30-6:30, 6:30-7:30pm. There will be a sign up sheet on a table in the vestibule of the church where you can write your name and phone number in your desired time slot. Commitment to the one hour time is a solemn obligation. The Blessed Sacrament can NOT be left alone when exposed for Adoration. If you cannot meet your commitment please call Bernadette Kunz at 908-964-5253 or the rectory at 908-272-4444 at least 24 hrs. prior to your time. No matter the amount of time you have, be it long or short Everyone is welcome to come spend time with the Lord.

28th Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive Saturday, May 12, 2018, put your non-perishable donation in a bag by your mailbox, and the postmen will pickup. The Social Concerns Food Pantry has benefited from the Kenilworth collection in the past.

YOUTH MINISTRY

This Sunday night we invite all high school teens to join us for our next meeting in the Youth Room at St. Michael’s. Doors open at 7pm and we get started shortly after 7:30pm. Tonight is one of our Choice Topic Nights where our TEAM leader will be offering 5 “mini meetings” and you can choose which topic discussion you might want to sit in on. CCD Registration New registration and re-registration forms are available for Fall 2018 Religious Education Classes. New registration packets are available at the Religious Education Office (located above the school gym) and re-registration forms will be distributed to current students starting this weekend (April 8th). Please note: Students who plan on returning for 7th grade after a year or more of not attending CCD classes need to take a placement test to determine their grade level.
