A NEW BEGINNING

News from the President’s Desk; Nottingham Village Senior Living Community first opened it’s doors in 1977 with a 121 bed skilled nursing facility. Thanks to our good fortune, we are situated on 105 acres of lovely rolling hills, with lots of room for expansion, in the midst of the Sus-quehanna River Valley, in the center of many towns and other health care facilities. In the ensuing years, in 1984, we opened the Retirement Center apartment building, consisting of 36 apartments. In 2012, we added 26 additional apartments, for a total now of 62 apartments. This building is now licensed as a Personal Care facility, known otherwise as assisted living. In 1985, we began construction of retirement cottages known as Country Houses, now numbering 65 units, with 35 more to come. In July 2016, we began construction of a new memory care center, consisting of 48 private apartments, for 48 residents, in four separate neighborhoods. The new center will con-tinue to offer our existing excellent dementia care trained staff, and will offer the fin-est in dementia care. Each suite will have it’s own environmental controls for individu-al comfort, and dining will be in each separate neighborhood. Residents and families will know that security for residents will be of utmost concern. During warm weather, outside and secure courtyards will be offered. Construction is scheduled for comple-tion in July of 2017 with occupancy for residents to begin in August. Our existing Heather Court area will be vacated, and this area to be refurbished and converted to skilled nursing occupancy, enabling the nursing center to offer many more private rooms. Stay tuned for updates.
