Mark 1:35 ‘Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.’

One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.’ So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.’

Ephesians 6:18 ‘Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.’
1 Thessalonians 5:17 ‘Never stop praying.’

Prayer starts with an inward desire which leads to an outward petition.
To pray successfully we have to put our desires into words.
