The Door for Christmas
cards is back for everyone
to share their Christmas
wishes with the congregation. You are welcome
to post a card on the door or send your greet-
ings to the office and we’ll put it up for you.
Gift Boxes
We would like to remember the church staff members this Christmas season. In the Narthex of the church are two gift boxes where you may give Holiday monetary gifts for Pastor Julie and for our paid staff, which includes Vicki Lynn Phillips, Donna Oberlin, Sarah Redman, Brendan Redman, Cathy Steele, Jodi Stillisano, and Patty Wiley in appreciation for their ministry and dedication to First Christian Church.
CHURCH "NIGHT" AT LOGOS MONDAY, DECEMBER 7
10 A.M. TO 8 P.M.
December 7, 2015, all day long is our "Church Night" at Logos. Logos will give First Christian Church
Library 20% of all sales completed between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. to purchase library items. Every purchase counts - books, cards, gifts, framed artwork, music, stocking stuffers and more. Catalogs with coupons
are available in the library. You can order ahead and ask them to hold your purchase for that day if you want to be sure they have a specific item that day. Can't shop that day? Ask for Library Stamps - you
will receive 1 stamp/$1 spent. Put them on the desk in the library. 100 stamps is like a $5 coupon for library purchases. Logos has contributed to our
library this way for 25 years! The Lord’s Pantry will be on December 6th.
Remember they will be doing Christmas baskets
for those in need in the community. Special Needs
for the Holiday Baskets are: Cranberry Sauce,
Stuffing, Instant Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes,
Gravy Packets, Turkey or Chicken,
Dry Milk, Rice, Pumpkin, Evapo-
rated Milk, Boxed Pie Crust, Muffin
Mix, Jello, and Gift Cards at Acme
in $10 amounts.
Help Decorate the church for Advent and Christmas! Saturday, November 28th at 10am. All hands are greatly appreciated!

Library News: The movie based on Karen Kingsbury's book, The Bridge, will premier on The Hallmark Channel at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6. Perhaps you've read the book from our library. Karen K. is thrilled that her book has been made into a movie and is hoping that many of us will see this premier performance and let Hallmark know that we appreci-ate movies of this genre and quality. If you haven't read it, check it out.
Happy Advent –
I need a silent night, a holy night. To hear an angel voice through the cha-os and the noise. I need a midnight clear, a little peace right here, to end this crazy day with a silent night. -Amy Grant As we await the birth of the Christ Child we often get caught up of the hustle and bustle of the season – running to and fro, trying to find just
the right present and making sure that everything will be special. But, I want to challenge you this year. Set aside time each day to just be still. Set aside
time to just be quiet and wait. The practice of silence is an ancient spiritual practice that was meant to help us hear where God is speaking and calling us. I love Christmas. I love to decorate and entertain and do all the things that seems to be a
major part of the holiday season, but I also need silence and time set apart to hear the voice of God. Without this quiet time I forget who I am waiting for – the babe who will be a savior of all the nations.
I wish you all a happy and blessed holiday season filled with family and laughter and silence.
In Christ, Pastor Julie

Hiram Farms has undertaken a
major project to build a bathroom
facility which will be attached to the
existing barn at Hiram Farm. Since
the inception of Hiram Farm, ASD
participants have only had port-o-
potties available for use, and no potable hot water.
Hiram Farm has established a fundraising site through
CrowdRise in order to raise funds for this much needed
project. Please take time to visit www.hiramfarm.org
and consider making a donation to this very worthwhile
project. To date they have raised over $14,000 through
CrowdRise for this project. If you know someone who
might be able to offer labor or materials in lieu of a
financial gift, we’d love to talk to them about our needs.

HOLIDAY ELVES NEEDED: WE are participating in the "Adopt-A-Family" program with Miller Commu-nity House beginning on December 1, a giving tree will be set up in the Narthex at church. The tree will contain red 'mitten ornaments' with different gifts listed for our needy family. We also will be adopting a few veterans from Freedom House through gifts of $5, 10 or 15 gift certificates. Green mittens will con-tain a request for a gift card for a veteran. We are asking that you choose a mitten and then return your gift to the boxes provided by Dec. 16. If you are giving a gift to our family, Miller house requests that you wrap the gift and be sure to affix the 'red mitten ornament' to the package so that they know which gift to give to which family. If you are giving a gift card, please place the gift card in an envelope and affix the 'green mitten ornament' to the front of the envelope. We will take all gifts to Miller house and Freedom House the week before Christmas. AND THAT'S NOT ALL: We also have volunteered to wrap other gifts for Miller House. Please bring your excess wrapping paper, bows, tape and ribbon and join us after church on December 20 to wrap more gifts. Refreshments will be served. If you have any questions, please contact Lynne at 330-607-5256. Merry Christmas one and all!
