Ms. Kayla has been a teacher at the CLC since she was 18. Kayla is a graduate of Greenwood High. She studied Social Work at ASU and hopes to become a social worker and has such a passion for helping others. Ms. Kayla enjoys teaching all kids regardless of their limitations and makes sure that every child feels loved, accepted and included. In her free time Ms. Kayla loves to watch the Rangers, walk her puppies Ashbey and Charlie as well as taking naps. Ms. Kayla also loves to spend time with her family, her boyfriend Kelby and her friends.

I am excited for the opportunity to preach this Sunday. I will be picking up in the middle of a sermon series that Mike has been leading us through over the past several weeks. We have been exploring the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, while focusing on how Jesus invites us to answer a call. This Sunday we will reevaluate our understanding of Jesus and his calling for us. For many of us, the Jesus story has been embedded into our lives at an early age. We are so

familiar with the different stories of the Gospel that it is easy to overlook (or to become desensitized) to God revealing truth in Scripture. Over the next few days, I invite you to continue to discern how God is still speaking in our world today. And how are you revealing God‘s everlasting love? I am looking forward to Sunday, and cannot wait to see you in worship!

During the Season of Lent, FCC offers a 3-4 week class for children who are interested in learning more about the Christian faith in preparation of making their Profession of Faith. This special class is known as Pastor’s Class. Pastor’s Class is always an uplifting and rewarding part of my ministry to children. Years are spent not only in the home but in the church setting guiding/directing them as they began their faith journey. Teaching spiritual truth to our children – teaching them to know, love, and serve

Christ – can be fun, exciting, and most of all, life-changing and meaningful. When families and the church make the time to introduce children to Jesus and He becomes their personal Lord and Savior, we are laying an unshakable foundation for their lives. King David wrote about having an “unshakable life” even though he faced incredible trials and temptations and even people who threatened to take his life. Yet through it all his love for almighty God gave him an unshakable inner foundation – the same foundation our children need in these turbulent times. Passing on a heritage of faith to children is an incredible privilege God gives to not only parents but to the members of that child’s church family. This year Pastor’s Class will be held on the following Sundays: February 11, March 4 & 25 from 3-5pm. During this time they will have an Elder Mentor that will walk with them through this process and spend time with them outside of class. If your child, or you know of a child that feels led to make this journey of faith and would like to be a part of Pastor’s Class, please contact the church office for more information. This past Sunday evening the children divided up into teams. They were instructed to build the tallest tower possible. They had to make sure that it had a strong foundation and work together as a team. In the process they learned what it meant to be a part of a team and how a team works together. They all did an awesome job!

Adult Sunday School Adult Sunday School All of our adult Sunday School classes meet at 10 am. Each class is based on studies of particular scriptures and related topics. 2 Chronicles 7:14 - Library A class for adults of all ages. This class is doing a series on Extraordinary Women of the Bible and is led by members of the class. Fellowship - Room 306 A class for adults in their senior years. They are currently doing a Bible Study of 1 Peter. Jim Mauldin is the leader of this class. Young Disciples – Room 106 Parents of children of all ages are welcome to be a part of this class. They are beginning a new study, 12 Ordinary Men – a study on the Disciples. This Sunday the focus is on Peter. Genesis - Parlor A class for adults of all ages. For the month of January, the topic is “12 Goals for the New Year”. Keith Gibbons is the leader of the class.
