March, 2017
Science Week
Many, many thanks to our amazing
Science Week guests who brought the
world of science to our students and
taught them many interesting facts. Great
knowledge was acquired by all.
The 4th and 5th graders built their own robots under the guidance of Mr. Ryan Johnston and his 6th grade assistant, Katelyn Anderson, from Chireno Elementary School.
Dr. Stephen Mullin, Chair of
SFA’s Biology Department, taught
the children about the differences
between reptiles and amphibians.
They learned more about animals from Miss Whitney Heckler from the Ellen Trout Zoo, who specifically discussed living environments and animal adaptations.
Mr. Ray Stoner taught 2nd and 3rd grade students about different types of soil and soil solubility.
Mission Statement: Christ Episcopal School is a diverse community of learners who participate in an enriched academic program in a nurturing Christian environment which fosters a dedication to service to others and a love of lifetime learning.

Nacogdoches High School in May after teaching US history and economics there for seventeen years. Please
join us in welcoming her to our CES family.
The 2017 Lenten Project will begin March 1st and last until April 14th. This year the school is going to collect money to go towards Christ Episcopal Church’s Phase II of building water wells in Tanzania, Africa. The most recent one was completed in 2016 for the children of
Tanzania Minaki High School.
See http://www.christchurch-nacogdoches.org for more information regarding the water wells in Africa.
