Forest Schools Club The Forest Schools Club offers children opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem, through hands- on outdoor learning experiences. Children will be given the freedom to explore using multiple senses, encouraging creative, diverse and imaginative play and learning. Activities will be in keeping with the curriculum for excellence and the children will receive the highest level of care whilst at forest school club. Some examples of activities your children may take part in at forest schools club include- shelter building, fire lighting, digging for treasure, meet a tree, blindfold challenges, storytelling, making magic potions, environmental art, building dragon dens, drumming and outdoor cooking. Forest School Club will run every Thursday afternoon in the Children’s Wood rain or shine from 1-4pm. Your child will be required to turn up in warm clothes and waterproofs with a change of clothes (just in case) Children will need to be over three when they register and sessions cost £15 ‘There is evidence Forest School can have a profound and positive effect on the way children and young people relate to each other and the world around them.’ (Forest School research ran by the forestry commission) http://www.forestresearch.gov.uk/website/forestresearch.nsf/ByUnique/INFD- 5Z3KFM

Course Leader- Susan Byrne, Acredited OCN forest school Leader level 2 and 3, Beach schools level 3 practitioner. Holds an ICT outdoor pediatric first aid certificate, PVG checked and Insured and has 5 years experience working with children in a woodland environment.
