THE CFS WEEKLY “GROWING AND LEARNING TOGETHER”
To Parents and Carers,
Hello CFS Family
Attached to this newsletter is the annual parent
survey. These surveys are important as it gives all
parents a voice and provides the school with
valuable feedback on what we are doing well and
what we need to improve upon.
The survey will take about 15 minutes, which is a small investment of time that could result in significant change within the school in the future.
If you have any issues with the survey please call, our administration staff on 897333844. If you would like to talk to me on any matter, please contact the school to make an appointment.
For those who do not wish to do the paper version, there is an online version available at: https://www.schoolsurvey.edu.au/s/cfs18
Please complete and return the survey by 31 August 2018.
There are a number of children wearing roller-skate shoes to school. Some of these shoes have a permanent skate wheel at the back of the shoe, some have retractable wheels. Neither type is acceptable foot wear for school.
Under our WHS guidelines, any shoe with wheels attached is deemed inappropriate foot wear for school as they present too great a risk of injury to the wearer and to other children. If your child presents at school with roller-skate shoes we will loan them a pair of our shoes, and keep the roller-skate shoes safe until home time.
Please support us and send your child to school in appropriate footwear. As always, I am happy to discuss this matter further with parents.
We have had a few instances lately in which we have not been able to contact the parents of a sick child because family contact details have been out of date. Please ensure when you get a new phone and/or change address that you let the school know, so that we can contact you if we need to.
We are fortunate to have Marilyn Holmes as a guest in the school this week. Marilyn is a distinguished academic from the University of Otago, NZ, and has expertise in the NZ Maths pedagogy that we use in the school. I anticipate some real growth in our numeracy across the school as a result of this visit, and it’s great to have back Marilyn back in our CFS family. This is Marilyn’s 14th visit to Katherine!
I hope you have a pleasant week.
