Transverse Damping System Transverse Damping System is a feedback with a real-time digital signal processing for:• damping of transverse injection
oscillations,• feedback curing transverse coupled bunch
instabilities,• excitation of transverse oscillations for beam
measurements and other applications. The Damper is in the list of the systems that
must operate already for first beam injection. Therefore the schedule of construction and installation of the Damper in the machine must be completed in 2006 and testing in the accelerator will start in November 2006.
JINR’s obligations:• 20 deflectors (kickers) & 20 twin-amplifiers.
18 kicker tanks (9 modules) assembledwaiting for bake-out by AT-VAC in hall 113

Installation of barrel muon station
A major effort is spent in the preparation andtesting of the barrel muon stations (MDTs andRPCs for the middle and outer stations) beforetheir installation in-situ
