Summer Choir, June-AugustSundays at 9:30am
The St. Cecilia Chorale is off for the summerwhile all other music groups are continuing. Ifyou are interested in singing at 9:30am onSundays, just show up at 9am in the churchchoir loft and be ready! Liturgy sheets areavailable in paper as well as digitally in thisnewsletter so prepare!
Also, use this time to practice on improving yourown reading and musicality! Make anappointment with Adan Fernandez on Mondaysor Thursdays between 3-8pm to improve yourmusicianship. Music ministry members of the
worship team, adult choirs, and Santa Monicagroup receive free lessons during the summer.

Bernstein 100th Anniversary at theBowl, July 10th 8pm
To celebrate the centennial of Bernstein's birth,Maestro Dudamel and the LA Phil will beperforming some of Bernstein's most belovedworks including "Prelude, Fugue, and Riffs" andselections from West Side Story. For membersof the music ministry at Holy Family and theirguests. We have four more tickets available. Ifyou are available to carpool, please let meknow!

Organ Recital, July 27th 7:00pm
Adan Fernandez will be performing an organrecital on July 27th. Performing the works ofWidor, Bach, and Messiaen, Adan will alsofeature cathedral organist Sal Soria and Dr.Cesar Favila in an evening of unforgettablemusic! Donations are encouraged and will gotoward the Music Ministry Fund, which is usedto sponsor large concerts such as those duringChristmas and Easter.

Interfaith Concert,November 11th 2018
On November 11th, the Cathedral of Our Ladyof the Angels will be hosting an interfaith concertbetween the Catholic and Jewish faiths.Personally, I feel this is wonderful in helping notonly facilitate interesting discussions but also asa way of bridging cultural divides that arecommonly exacerbated by languages andstyles.
Performance for this concert is by invitation onlyand open to members of the St. CeciliaChorale, Simbayanan' Chorale, and by personalinvitation by Mr. Tom Makiling or AdanFernandez. Rehearsals for this concert willbegin in September.
A total of at least 20 different churches andsynagogues will be performing along with aspecial commission by Christopher Walker.Please check out his bio below!

Christmas Concert,Dec. 1st and 2nd
Announcing our Christmas concert! Pleasemark your calendar for our dress rehearsalon Nov. 30th and performances on Dec. 1stand 2nd. The first performance will be at7:30pm at Holy Family Catholic Church.The second performance will be on Dec.2nd with time TBA at Church of the GoodShepherd in Arcadia, California.
The concert will include performances fromthe combined choirs of Holy Family andChurch of the Good Shepherd andGlendale Community College. We arehonored to have guest conductor, Dr. PeterGreen.
The groups performing will be: the WorshipTeam, the children's choirs, Simbayanan',St. Cecilia, GCC Chamber Singers, CoroGuadalupano, St. Monica Group, andmembers of the Glendale Youth Orchestra.
I will need help with: advertisement, foodand refreshments, set-up and clean-up
crew, and greeters. Let me know if you areinterested in fulfilling these positions!
The repertoire covered will includeSomething Beautiful by Need to Breathe, IHeard the Bells on Christmas Day byCasting Crowns, Christmas Day by GustavHolst, and Christmas Oratorio by Saint-Saens. We will also be having a carolmedley by Tom Fettke in the middle of theconcert. Check out a few of the selectionson the left!
