All Saints All Saints Building Committee update: Parishioner responses regarding the future of our churches: If you are going to respond, you must include your name and phone number. Names will not be published but there have been a few who are writing complaints without a name. These will not be in the bulletin or considered valid responses. We asked that you put your name and phone number on your response so we can have a healthy discussion about the future of our churches not just read complaint letters. We value your suggestions. This is the last of the initial written responses: 1. In regard to our churches, I think St. Hedwig’s should be the place of worship. Both Churches still have lots of years of service left in them, both have new roofs on them. St. Hedwig’s had brick tuck pointing, has handicap stairs, upstairs and downstairs base-ment, and very good acoustics. At Christmas Eve Mass, I looked around and saw such a beautiful interior with all the white altars and the statues with the lights on and you want to tear it down and build a new church. No, I for one will not support for a new church. To repair or build new steps: yes, I will. If we build-is there anyone interested in donating 5 acres in the City of Holdingford limits or interested in selling it to us? Please contact Bob Pueringer 746-2492 by January 31st, 2019. Thank you. No future planning and unity will happen correctly without Prayer! St. Stanislaus Everyone is welcome to come help us take down Christmas decorations Friday Jan 18 at 9:00 a.m. St Stanislaus Kostka. Thank you to all who helped decorate for the blessed Christmas season. Immaculate Conception There will be a Parish Bazaar planning meeting on January 27th At 7:00 p.m. in the church basement, St. Anna. All those who are chairpersons of a stand are expected to attend.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops announced the annual “9 Days for Life” prayer and action campaign that will be from Jan. 14 to Jan. 22.

Sponsored by the U.S. bishops’ Committee on Pro Life Activities, the “9 Days” observance leads up to the annual Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children Jan. 22, the anniversary of the Supreme Court’s 1973 decisions in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton that legalized abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy. The 9daysforlife.com website provides ways for Catholics to join the novena and to access resources. Participants can receive the novena by downloading a free “9 Days for Life” app, or by subscribing to daily emails or text messages. A printable version also is available online.

Chalking the Door Epiphany marks the occasion of a time-honored Christian tradition of “Chalking the doors.” The formula for the ritual is simple: Take chalk of any color and write the following above the entrance of your home: 20+C+M+B+19. The Letters C,M,B have two meanings: They are the initials of the traditional names of the three magi: Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar, They also abbreviate the Latin words Christus mansionem benedicat, “May Christ bless the house.” The plus signs represent the cross and 2019 is the year.
