Meet the OfficersMy name is Matt Walsh and I am the 2016-2017 Carolinas Dis-trict Governor of CKI. I graduated in May 2015 from NCSU with a degree in Biological Sciences and I am now currently pursuing a nursing degree at Duke University. Outside of CKI and school I enjoy watching netflix, playing video games, and going to the beach! My role as Governor is to serve as your representative of the Carolinas District. I am here to guide the district to success. Addi-tionally, I am a resource. Please do not hesitate to contact me for anything that you need! I decided to run for this position because I felt I could make a positive impact and really make some changes that the district needed. I joined CKI because the message that this organization stands for coincided with what I wanted to do as a ca-reer. I truly believe that what we do in CKI has the ability to change the world for the better!

I’m Sara Mylin and am currently serving as the Carolinas’ District Sec-retary for the ‘16-’17 year. I’m a senior Accounting major at Appalachian State University. I first joined CKI a little over a year ago with a friend, hoping to find a club we would feel good about being a part of. The ser-vice project that hooked me was making and serving a meal at Boone’s Hospitality House. I worked with a great group of people who loved to serve as much as I did, and was able to have some great conversations with those we served. I have enjoyed every moment spent with this amaz-ing organization since. I’m inspired by the change my peers create within our communities and those elsewhere, as well as the incredible opportu-nities to help and learn from others, whether it be those we serve or those who teach us how to lead. I’m excited to be this year’s District Secretary and I hope to build on the strong foundation created by those before me to bring more CKI members together from all over our District. This year will be a great one!

My name is Chelsie Higdon! I am 23 years old, and a recent graduate of Western Carolina University. I am looking to be getting my mas-ters online this coming year and am so excited to be able to continue my education and being able to work with the amazing organization of Circle K. This year I became the Service Chair, for the Carolina’s District. I chose this position because doing service, and planning events for non-profit organizations is what I want to do with my fu-ture and this seemed right up my alleyway. I became a part of Circle K a year ago almost because I was inspired by the service and oppor-tunities at a recruiting event at my school, and immediately knew I wanted to be involved, becoming secretary and helping charter my school was a huge opportunity for me, and made me proud to be part of this organization and I am excited to see where it takes me.

I’m Sara Baggett, current Carolina’s district treasurer. In my position, I help with creating the district budget and serve as a resource for clubs to turn to for help with dues and making sure they are aware of all the important dates coming up. I chose my position because I believe I can provide the time and service needed to help meet our district goals and motivate clubs to pay their dues on time through the resources I pro-vide. Back in 2012, I joined Circle K with the hope to make new friends and connections to help me come out of my shell a little more. What I found was much more than that. I was able to gain not only a lot of great friendships but grow as well in my leadership abilities and pas-sion for service. Through the years, I have been able to hold two officer positions including club treasurer/secretary at CVCC and advertising chair at Appalachian State. These positions and many other experiences in Circle K have pushed me forward to run for district treasurer and further my leadership abilities not only in this organization but in life in general.

Hello everyone! My name is Damalis Caraballo and I am the Caroli-nas bulletin editor. I am the person in charge of creating the bulletin titled The Carolinian and send it out every so often. I also take pic-tures at each district event! I became bulletin editor knowing these skills in my previous term and I enjoyed being the bulletin editor so I decided to run once more! I look forward meeting you guys at these events and I will keep you posted on the bulletin!

Hello fellow CKI members of the Carolinas District. My name is Christian Sprague and I’m from Cherry Point, North Carolina. This year I was elected to be the Lieutenant Governor of the Capital Division of the Carolinas District, putting me in charge of NC State, Campbell, Duke, UNC, and Meredith. I chose this position as it would completely envelop the idea of living to serve on a larger scale than I thought I could ever achieve. Becoming more of an altruistic individual have been m initiative for joining CKI altogether this past year, and I look forward to meeting many of you through divisional service projects.

Hello! My name is Julia Terry and I am the 2016-2071 Carolina District Lieutenant Governor for the Palmetto Division of CKI.My role as an LTG for the Palmetto division is to assist Univer-sity of South Carolina, Aiken, and to help charter new clubs this year with my main focus being on Lander University, Columbia College, and College of Charleston. I chose this position because I wanted to get more involved with CKI and help make this year amazing!

Hey guys! My name is Genesis Reyes and I am the Carolinas District LTG for the Metro Division. My position requires me to help UNC-Charlotte as well as Western Carolina and other universities in the division. I plan on keeping tabs on these clubs as well as their presidents. I chose this position in order to be more involved in Circle K as well as help my club on a higher position. I am looking forward to seeing where this takes me this year!

My name is Cristian Rios and i am on the Kiwanis Family Re-lations Committee. I chose this position because of the options that were left, this was the most exciting for me. I get to work with different branches of the Kiwanis family and bring them together through events, projects, socials, and community ser-vice! I first joined Cirkle K International through friends who recommended (forced) that i try it out with them and although i have never been in a school club i decided to give it a try. It turned out to be one of the best decisions i made for school and met some lifelong friends and found out that i enjoy serving the community.

Aye, my name is Walter Melgar. I am the 2016-2017 Blue-Ridge LTG. My hobbies include watching anime and reading about the technol-ogy of the future. I like to hang out with friends and meeting new people. If I can be of help in any way just let me know.

My name is Michael Walker and I am an Undergraduate Student at UNC-Chapel Hill. I am the Lieutenant Governor of the Triad Division. I got involved with Circle K as a result of my involvement with Key Club in High School. I love the K-Family and will continue to be involved in any-way that I can probably until I die!

I’m George, and I am the 2016-2017 Carolina’s District Mem-bership Development & Education Chair. I am currently a rising junior at Wake Forest studying biology and economics and am a huge fan of sports. I chose this position because my home club is struggling with membership and I will have to think of new ways with my executive board to recruit new members. It was my hope that I could also share these tactics with the district to better every club. I joined CKI because I was four year member in Key Club. I was very active and served as an officer for three years there.

What’s up everyone? My name is Geoffrey Whitley and I am the 2016-2017 coastal division lieutenant governor. What I plan to accomplish is to link the diaspora between key club and circle k and bring us closer. Also, to get more circle k’s at universities and make circle k bigger than it has ever been before. I chose this po-sition because Kiwanis is my life! As a lieutenant governor in key club and recipient of the Robert f Lucas award, I have found out that serving others is my life. I found out that I will go above and beyond for anyone, just to know that they are happy. I chose this because I wanted to reprise my role and help serve others but Also let people know that circle k is doing bigger and better things!

Hey everyone! My name is Alicia Paeplow and I am so unbelievably excited to be the new Con-ferences and Conventions Committee Chair on the District Board. Here’s a little bit of back-ground information about me that way everyone gets to know me a little better. I am a senior at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke majoring in Business Administration with a

concentration in management. I am a member of the volleyball team at UNCP and apart of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. I love food, sleep, and my dog Lilly. I am super excited for

Fall Call Conference and I hope everyone is as well. What I am looking forward to the most is getting to know everyone and learn more about Circle K International as well as have a success-

ful Fall Call Conference and District Convention.
