Standards

Skills
History-Social Science skills have been updated and aligned with the C3 Framework for Social Studies State Standards, the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and the English Language Development Standards in each grade level.
Independent chapters are dedicated to Instructional Practice for Kindergarten through Grade Five (chapter 2), Six through Grade Eight (chapter 9), and Nine through Twelve (chapter 13) and give additional attention to Disciplinary Thinking and Analysis Skills in discipline-specific ways (e.g. civics and government, economics, geography, and history)
What’s Next?
• March 24-25, 2016: California Instructional Quality
Commission reviews and finalizes draft framework
for board approval.
• May 2016: State Board of Education to review
Framework and vote for approval.
• Fall/Winter 2016: If approved, the Framework will
be published with Framework Roll-Outs to follow.
