Reminders

So it’s been a pretty lousy start of the month with there being no school and all due to the teacher strike. It sucks however I’m sure that there are some people out there that feel indifferent about it or they just like the extra break time. For this issue there will not be much again, since we had summer break, but there will be things about what we did and what we are going to do. Anyways enjoy reading!

Just a friendly reminder to all those who wish to remain in Key Club for the 2014-2015 term. You MUST make a payment of $12.50 to us as soon as possible (somehow, I don’t know, we’ll figure it out). Be sure to invite your friends to join as well, the more the merrier!

So again for the month of August we volunteered at the Food Cart Fest downtown with Green Team and had a blast. May-be having to stand for 8 hours was not as great but helping out the environment is worth that. It was a fun filled day of recycling and being surrounded by smiling attendees and food (that we couldn’t eat ;~;). Many people gave us compliments on how awesome it was that we were doing this and told us a bit about how they were impressed with the sorting system. Overall, it was great to get out and help our city become a greener place. - Kitty L.

Past Events

Sweets, sweets, and more sweets. An event full of sweets. On August 20th, Canada Rally was held at the beautiful UBC campus where we all got to learn about what Key Club does, what they’ve done in the past, and what they have in store for the future. There were also fun workshops for executives and members to learn about what we are supposed to do individually and as a club! Like any other Key Club gathering, there were ice breakers and friendly people to chill out with but this time there was a ton of (free) candy to make this gathering an even sweeter experience. We even raised enough money during the Miracle Minute for a chance to throw an extra pie to LTG Patricia Xia’s face!

Upcoming Events

September DCM

So it’s September, as if you didn’t know that already, and this month’s theme for the DCM is Service is a Fairytale! There will be Key Club Kick-off for all members, which means food and fun. This is also a great way to bring some of your Non-Key Club friends along to have some fun and see what Key Club does. The date and location is to be announced but when the time comes, be sure to go!

Krispy Kreme Doughnut Fundraiser

Donuts. Is there anything they can’t do?- Matt GroeningThis month, our Key Club will be having a Krispy Kreme Doughnut Sale to raise funds for our club as well as Key Club’s Project Eliminate. That means we will have a bigger budget and help save babies, yay! What we’re planning to do is buy 50 boxes of Krispy Kreme Glazed Doughnuts and sell a box for $10 or $1 for one. At the moment we have not determined the date but when the time comes, please come and volunteer! (And maybe buy some yourself hehe) This is also for you guys too you know so be prepared to sell some doughnuts.
