… The fantastic thing about the SQE is that state-of-the-art technology has been utilised to make my life easier

in two ways. First, the entire system is very easy to install. Second, the components rarely fail. So for me, the

SQE means easy installations which require virtually no maintenance.

… Not only did Grundfos develop a constant water pressure solution that is second to none in terms of performance,

they had the brilliant idea of putting everything in one box. I’m left without the bother of ordering different

numbers of this and different numbers of that, and instead I have the sheer convenience of one box solutions.

… Constant water pressure, which is also adjustable, means we always get what we need when we turn on the

tap. But if necessary, at the touch of a button we can turn the pressure up to wash the car, and back down

again to wash the dishes. With a control unit that tells us how the pump is performing and warns us of any

faults, all our water supply needs are answered.

… The SQE pump with CU301 control unit offers full

water supply control and sets the pump to deliver

constant pressure according to relevant household

needs. Even when requirements change, the system

is easy to adjust. A simple push of a button will start,

adjust, re-set or stop the pump.

… Grundfos motors employ an advanced permanent

magnet technology that delivers unusually high

starting torque. The high locked-rotor torque, com-

bined with fewer pump stages, eliminates starting

problems. The motors will even start when supply

voltage is low.

… ’ SQ/SQE pumps have a permanent-magnet-driven motor

controlled by a micro-frequency converter designed

and built by Grundfos. Its soft-start system reduces

water hammering, light flickering and other electrical

disturbances. Soft start reduces wear and prevents

overloading of electrical installations during start-up.

When most pumps are subjected to excessive load,

current consumption increases. But the SQ/SQE’s

motor automatically compensates by reducing the

speed instead. If the speed drops below a pre-

programmed value, the motor shuts off completely. A

controller constantly monitors the permanent-magnet

rotor. If, for any reason, the rotor stops running, power

is cut off. No separate motor protection is needed!

… ’ Dry running protection shuts down the pump if it

detects a water shortage. It protects the well from

being over-pumped and the pump from breaking

down. It will re-start after a pre-set time.

… ’ -When pumps start against a low counter-pressure,

the risk of upthrust in the impeller stack rises. So does

the risk of damage to the pump and motor. Grundfos

motors are fitted with a stop ring to protect the pump

and motor from this risk of damage during start-up.

… ’ Unstable power supply can damage conventional

AC motors. The MS 3 motors in SQ/SQE pumps

(nominal 200-240 V, 50/60 Hz) cut-out if voltage

exceeds 280 V or drops below 150 V. When normal

voltage is restored the pump automatically starts

again.
