of the Black Communityby Kimberly F. BrownContributing writer, Arts and Culture Magazine

The Messy Dealingsof CuyahogaCounty

Council and the Secret Club

As many of us headed to the polls in November, we discovered that nothinghas changed since the sixties and nothing will change come 2015.According to some researchers, Black America was better off then becausethere was growth and opportunities caused by many movements that forcedAmerica to change how they did business. Many would contend that Blackswere better off than now. According to Black Star Journal, Many youngBlack men graduating from college today in the United States are lessprepared to succeed in American society than their forefathers who werereleased from slavery in 1865.

When Black men were released from slavery in 1865, they becameblacksmiths, bricklayers, carpenters, merchants, teachers, doctors, lawyers, farmers, ranchers, cooks, soldiers and more. They built houses, towns, communities, businesses, families, schools, universities, institutions andfutures. Most of these men had less than a third-grade education. Blackstoday are not cutting the mustard. Many of us can’t read, write and dosimple arithmetic. We lack the basics because we fail to nurture theimportance of education. Reading is essential to understanding. It developsthe mind and language skills, and enhances your vocabulary. Understandingthe written word is one way to discover new things. Writing is essential tocommunication, and basic arithmetic is essential to survival. Without abudget, you will never know when your money is depleted and youwouldn’t be able to save for special occasions or even pay your bills ontime. Math is used for everyday activities. Without these ingredients, Blacksare doomed to fail as it is a direct reflection of our lack of progress. Onecould argue, Blacks are not afforded the tools while others would contendthat it’s not the tools but the willingness to learn. Blacks in the 1800's werenot afforded the tools, they took advantage of situational factors andcircumstances, Older Blacks appeared to be more eager to mentor, rise upand teach their children. The disciplined they implemented was stern.Failure was not an option. They understood the fight and the plight forfreedom, independence and sweat equity whereas today’s Black youth arespoiled and some are rotten to the core. The institutions once looked upon asa building block for Blacks is almost obsolete because prisons, dependencyon social service programs, unemployment, and welfare lines have takenover.

Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th president of the United States initiated the"Great Society" social service programs, and signed the Civil Rights Actinto law. Johnson wanted to use the resources of the federal government tofight poverty, strengthen civil rights, improve public education, implementadult job training programs, re-develop urban communities, and protect thecountry's natural resources. In short, Johnson wanted to ensure a better lifefor all Americans. Johnson sought a leverage to aid Americans with a freshstart to help them build upon goals in hope of creating a systemic revolutionfor independence, creativity and empowerment. While some Americansprospered under Johnson’s ideological reform, Blacks failed to understandthe extended goal of social service programs. Programs were not institutedas a means of survival for generations; they were instituted to serve aspublic helpmate services to aid those who have immediate needs with theintention of serving as a short term solution for societal drawbacks andunfortunate situational factors.

Are Blacks Better Off? This is an issue that every Black must answer forhim/herself. Education matters and voting is vital to democracy. But ifDemocracy is unknown, and Black education is blind then dependency is acomponent of the decline of the Black Family and we are not better off.

Election Year 2010 produced great waves in Cuyahoga County politics. A newgovernment was developed. The County moved from a 3 part commissioner runcounty government to a County Executive and 11 county council members. The11 councilpersons are made up of seven Caucasians and four African Americans8 men and 3 women. Diversity lacks on this board. A reliable source revealed toThe Brown Report that it is the ultimate goal to make sure county council boildown to 11 Caucasian males. Meanwhile, as County Council President EllenConally of District 9 retires from County Council, a seat for the presidency will bevacant. Who will be our next County Council President? Outside sources close tocouncil tells us that Councilman Pernel Jones cut a backyard deal withCouncilman Dan Brady. The Brown Report attempted to contact Jones and Brady3xs via phone and facebook. Both failed to respond. Rather than stand up ascouncilmen, they appear to be willing to risk their future. They were part of theSecret 6 in 2010. The group held private meetings to elect Connally

as President.County Councilappears to bemessy. It's timevoters send thema message - Dowhat's right orresign fromCounty Council.

"They paid me under the table. I did not want that. When I asked why, I was toldto shut the f--- up and take the money. I was verbally harassed, threatened andterminated", says Malcolm Spencer former employee of Shaker Heights SchoolDistrict. It's a mess, there is no union, yet we paid union dues. There areapproximately 150 service employees, and we have paid $720.00 each to berepresented by Local 200. Recently, we found that there is not a valid unionrepresenting us. Shame Shame Shame on Shaker Heights Board of Education".

What does a single father say to his young sons whenhe can no longer feed them or give them the things theyneed to survive? Well, he tells them it will be okay. Hedoes what he must do to keep food on the table andshoes on their feet. He sits down at night and manageshis household budget, seek new employment whilefighting struggles of being blackballed by a system hewas dedicated to and wanted to retire from. Because hechose to "Do the Right Thing" he found himselfmessed up and mixed up in situational factors thatcaused him sleepless nights and daytime agony.

In 1997, Spencer was hired by Shaker Heights School System and terminated inFebruary 2014. He started his career with Shaker in November of 1997 as asubstitute custodian. In December of that year, he found a resident purse that waslost at the High School with a lot of money in it. She in turn sent a letter to Dr.Freeman, Former Superintendent as a result, I was hired in February 1998 as afull time custodian. Prior to Spencer's employment with Shaker, he graduatedfrom John Adams High School in Cleveland. He attended Wooster BusinessCollege and graduated in 1988 with a OPOTC certification (SecurityInvestigation Training). In 2011, Spencer received a Pressure Steam Engineer'sLicense (Boiler Operators llc). In 2012, he continues his education and graduatedfrom Cuyahoga Community College Eastern Campus with a HVAC universalEPA License. Spencer did what many fathers would do - seek opportunities toeducate himself while looking for honest opportunities to grow and develophimself as a career minded and talented young professional.

16 years later - Spencer Talks to the BrownReport. We asked - What Happened. What Happened Mr. Spencer?

The Brown Report is fair. Wecontacted Shaker HeightsSchool - Waiting for a reply

Let's go back 365 days and examine the life of Malcolm Spencer. In 2013,Spencer was nominated to become the custodian union steward for LocalBrotherhood 200. Spencer accepted the position. He was eager to learn andserve. Although Spencer was excited to jump on board with this position, he hadmany questions. He wanted to know what his position entailed and how best hecould serve his fellow co-workers. Spencer was a stand-up guy and as a singlefather, his mission is to teach his sons how to be credible and responsible youngmen. (We wish more men would set an example for their sons and daughters)

In March of 2013, Spencer received his first check of $350.00. He wasappreciative of the extra money, but he noticed that the check failed to deducttaxes. Spencer thought that this was a mistake. According to Spencer, he broughtit to the attention of the Union President, Norm Edwards and Chief StewartShawn Brown. Brown told Spencer, "Shut up and sit down. Take the damn

money". Spencer had becomedisturbed by Brown's response.Spencer told the Brown Report, afterhis incident he began to encounterverbal and physical threats. He waspositioned as a target. Spencer wassubjected to a hostile environment. He was called out of his name. "I wascalled a "rat" because I startedasking questions about the checks, union dues and procedures of theunion," says Spencer."I began receivingnotes from the AssistantSuperintendent MarlaJ. Robinson. The notes wereupsetting and accusatory." The moreI expressed my concerns, andfollowed policies and procedures, Iwas subjected to criticism. Robinsonreferred me to the EmployeeAssistant Program but they wouldnot address my concerns. Eventually,Spencer hired an Attorney RobertDavis. Attorney Davis dealt withseveral employee relations issues butdid not employ issues regarding theunion. According to Spencer, manyattorneys appeared to be fearful ofthe Shaker Heights political process,so they would not take the case. As aresult, Spencer contacted grass rootsactivist Art McKoy and The BrownReport Newspaper. "I was fired frommy job and blackballed because Iwould not play along with thesegames. Shaker does not have alegally functioning Union. TheBoard takes union dues fromemployees and the people who frontas a union, pay Union Stewards froman unknown account. Shaker isreceiving millions of dollars fromemployees and there is notrepresentation. Local 200 does notexist. They need to be exposed".

Is there a Union? Where is the money?

Dan Brady

The Brown Report called County Council member Dan Brady not once, but threetimes. Brady made an irrational decision and did not return calls of the Brown Report. We also left voice mail and face-book messages for Pernel Jones Jr. Jones refused tocomment.

The Brown Report is asking questions. Why is Dan Brady bearing gifts to CountyCouncil members, as though he's a king when it is not his money? According to theCleveland Plain Dealer, Dan Brady appears to be buying votes. He's waving his wife'sDonna Brady money in the air as if he just doesn't care. Donna Brady is a ClevelandCity Councilperson. Mrs. Brady donated $20,000.00 to Dan Brady's (husband)campaign. Wait - Dan did not have any opposition this year. However, it appears thatDan had other plans for the $20,000.00 .

Election 2015 - January 2nd.Lies, Deception and Greed!

County Councilman Dan Brady Gives Large Donation to Colleagues

County Council President Ellen Connally will be retiring.Connally served District 9 under the newly reformed countygovernment. She was also the first Black woman to serve in thisposition. Because she is retiring, the office of President forcouncil will be available. Normally, (as it is an unwritten rule) inorder to keep a diverse and racial balance in our localgovernment, leaders and power brokers in the region decided (along time ago) if Cleveland's Mayor is black then the CouncilPresident would be White.

Anthony Hairston

Council President would either be a Black Man or a BlackWoman. The question is - Should the Council President beCouncilman Pernel Jones Jr. or Councilwoman YvonneConwell? A reliable source told The Brown Report that Jonesdid not want to run for the office of President, and that heexpressed interest in becoming the Vice-President. We are alsoinformed that Conwell was interested in campaigning for theposition of President. As we probed various sources, we aretold that Brady solicited Jones for a vote. Brady allegedly toldJones that if he votes for him for President, he would return thefavor and have his supportive colleagues vote for Jones forVice president. Brady is also said to have the support ofCouncilmen Jack Schron and David Greenspan. If this is true, this would give Brady four votes. Brady would need six votesto gain the majority.

BACK STABBERS

Shontel M. Brown

In order to garner the necessary votes, Brady must courtoutliers. The outliers in this case are Anthony Hairston, SunnySimon and Shontel M. Brown. Brady is a smart old politician. He knows how to study his prey. Brady knows that he canmanipulate new members of council. He will use whatever ittakes to get his prey to commit to false hopes, dreams andambitions. He also knows that his young colleagues will dowhatever he asked. They are

In this case, this unwritten rule alsoapplies to Cuyahoga County Council. In this case, electors voted to haveArmond Budish served as our nextCounty Executive. Due to Budish'sethnicity, it is only a fair but yetgranted assumption that the next

naive, and hungry for power. They seek unknown situational circumstances. They failed tounderstand that the decision they make in the back room will taunt them for the rest of theirpolitical career. "One thing for sure: There are two passions which have a powerful influence onthe affairs of men/women. These are ambition and avarice (greed); the love of power and the loveof money" (Benjamin Franklin). Those that have power in their hands will try to increase it. Thosethat have money will try to buy their way in and out of mess - create mess - stir up mess, and messin mess.

One by one, Brady courted his prey. Sources tell us that Brady started engaging in meetings withHairston, Simon and Brown. They met on separate occasions. The meetings were said to be secretand in private, but everyone knew what was going on but Hairston and Brown.

Hairston and Brown are young, ambitious and naive.Brady met with Hairston. Sources told The Brown Report. Brady told Hairston - in exchange for hisvote, he would make sure that he served on certain committees. He also promised Hairston morepower on council. To add icing to the cake, Brady gave Hairston a check for $2,000.00. Severaldays later, Donna Brady, Dan's wife, issued Hairston a separate check for $500.00. The question isfor what? Why did the Brady's give Hairston $2500.00? Hairston was not campaigning for anelected seat because he had won the primary election and did not have opposition for the generalelection. Hairston did not need the money. The Brown Report is asking - Why did Hairston take themoney? Did Hairston promise to vote for Brady? Was the $2500.00 donation used as a bribe? Weare asking the hard questions? Was this a way to buy a vote for Brady? Voters have a right toknow. Meeting with Shontel M. Brown

Brown tells the Brown Report "I plan to remain accessible and accountable. I fully understand my job is to serve,so in order to do that I must be open to receive input, suggestions and recommendations, as a public servant, this iswhat my constituents can expect of me." Brown makes a very interesting statement.

Brown defeated Adam Trumbo in the general election. Trumbo is the son of retired Judge Sara J. Harper. Duringthe campaign, Brown appeared to be a thinking and credible leader, She spoke correctly and did what was right. Many view her as the next "Political Star." This has now become a matter for discussion. After 13 days ofcelebrating Brown's victory, voters are asking questions. Can Brown be trusted? Why did Brown accept Brady'slarge financial donation? Will Brown vote for Brady? If she does, Brown's message will tell voters a lot about hercharacter.

It is reported that Brown had meetings with Brady and others. Sources tell us that one of the reasons Connallyendorsed Brown was because Brown promised to support Brady for President. Brown received a $1,000 donationfrom Brady. "I gratefully accepted donations from Brady, Jones, Conwell and Hairston. The money was used forcampaign material" says Brown. Brown follows up with an attack on our publisher. She tells Kimberly F. Brown,"given your recent support, I'm feeling slightly betrayed because people warned me about you." Kimberly firesback "Apparently, you didn't listen. I don't play favorites. I play fairness. I do not support pay to play activities. Isupport openness and compliance," says Kimberly. Kimberly F. Brown supported Brown's campaign. Kimberlysupported Shontel. Brown needs to know, The Brown Report will not give her a pass. We are watching! "Votingfor Brady because he gave her money is a pay-for-play activity, and it is foul," says Kimberly F. Brown.

PoliticiansPreyingon the YoungCuyahoga County Politics is known for being corrupt. Cuyahogasuffers from the Jimmy Dimora era. The era was full of lies, deception, manipulation and pay to play activities. As a result, thebiggest scandal in the history of Cuyahoga County told the nationthat Cuyahoga County politics is dirty, unethical and down rightshrewd. Many folks went to jail while others snitched oncolleagues to protect their masters, pimps and madams, and familymembers. They were preyed on and not prayed for. They used theirpolitical positions and party affiliation to enslave those too weak tothink for themselves, The "Wanna Be" did anything to belong.

For example, they solicited bribes, lied and placed people in positions to serve as "rubberstamps" for county commissioners, their family and close friends. They did not care aboutanyone outside of their circle. They operated understanding the concept of "group think - goingalong to get along. Those that agreed was rewarded trips, and being placed on specialcommittees. Those that did not adhere to party officers were punished by group leaders. Thismethodology resonates the acts of a street pimp preying on young people. One thing is for sure.A pimp preys on the young, and punishes his workers who refuse to become loyal. It appearsthat old seasoned politicians use the same forceful street game to coerce the act of youngpoliticians. Whether Hairston and Brown were paid to vote for Brady is not the issue. Theproblem lies within the meaning of why the money was given and why two young blackcouncil members got caught in the vicious web of an old - slick politician, and at what cost?

Election 2014 was a nightmarefor Dems but a Christmas for theRepublican Party. Who's sorrynow? Chris Redfern for puttingtogether an inexperienced team,FitzGerald because he thought he wasuntouchable and slick, and Turnerbecause she failed prey to ambitionknowing darn well if she could notfight Marcia Fudge how in the hellcould she - would she fight JonHusted. Election 2014 had someinteresting moments. It was not abattle to remember but a one round"knock out" where Republicans stoodstrong and Dems took a nasty fall.Merry Christmas!

$8,500 Scam "Not So Fast"

The Brown Report Aid Womanby the Brown Team

Cleveland, Ohio - The Brown ReportInvestigative Team hit another homerun - fighting crime and stoppingconsumer scams. On October 30, 2014,a Face Book user contacted the BrownReport seeking assistance regarding apotential scam. The woman gave abusiness $8500.00 for credit repair, business start-up services andorganization development. Aftermonths of not seeing results, the ladybecame concerned and attempted to geta refund of her money. The businessabsolutely refused to return the lady's

money. To add insult to injury, the business owner began tothreaten the woman, refused toreturn her phone calls andrespond to emails. Because theplaintiff had documentation of

claims, The Brown Report got involved. Our teambegan to investigate the company and found thattheir claim of working with Dun and Bradstreetwas false. Dun and Bradstreet are a provider ofinternational and U.S. business credit informationand credit reports. They includes products, services, investor and job information, andcontact details. We found the company isregistered with the State of Ohio. We emailed theowner, and she responded. The owner becameconcerned about The Brown Report probing thismatter, and she immediately contacted the victim. They met at Panera Bread on Harvard onMonday, November 3, 2014 @ 7pm. The ownerof the company handed the claimant a cashier'scheck for $8,500.00.

Well, what a mess we have again! Neither the Democrat orRepublican parties should be able to look us in the face. I personallydon’t understand how the Chris Redfern or Rob Frost can stand to lookin the mirror to shave!

The slate at the state level for the Dems was so weak that theycouldn’t sweep even in the very blue county of Cuyahoga. Redfern’swife couldn’t even win a seat on their school board, and he lost his ownState Rep seat. Yet, Sandra Williams can be indicted on Thursday andwin by a landslide on Tuesday. What the heck?

On the GOP side, Rob Frost needs to take a look at why they aredown a judge, couldn’t get Jack Schron over the hump, and why somany candidates had the best showing in years, but without financialbacking of the state or county party elites, no gains made. Mr. Frostneeds to take a hint from Mr. Redfern and step down.

Whether you are a blue or a red, liberal or conservative, you need toget involved and take back your party. Have a voice in who is runningand what backing they can get.But then, 60% of registered voters didn’t bother. PEOPLE DIED SOYOU COULD GO VOTE! If you didn’t vote, please sit down and put adirty sock in it! You have no opinion until you vote!

"Kim, I will not let you become bitter. I understand. I get it. You are smart andextremely talented. Stay in the fight. F--- them. You can win. Your heart is inthe right place" says, Eric J. Brewer - Former Mayor of East ClevelandFollowing Election 2013, Kimberly F. Brown took her loss pretty hard. Brown was upset not somuch that she was defeated by the incumbent, but more so because a close friend back stabbedher. Brown was devastated. Not being able to separate politics and friendship, Brown wasbitter. Eric Brewer began to talk with Brown over social media. Brewer told Brown to developa new campaign. Brewer stated "Kim, start a newspaper in WARD ONE. Let voters know whoyou are and what you stand for - start holding forums and attending meeting. Get to knowWARD ONE better than the councilperson." Brown did exactly as she was told. On Feburary1, 2014, the first edition of the Brown Report hit the street of Cleveland. Brown started thepaper and never looked back. She has also taken the leadership position in WARD ONE inholding safety forums, political forums and health and wellness forums for seniors in WARDONE, Warrensville, Highland Hills, Bedford Heights, and Maple Heights. More so, she hasused her publisher's status to support public policy, voter's rights and education and communityissues, investigate and resolve scams in the community and get vacant lots cleaned and bringattention to abandoned properties. Brown takes pride in working with the DeBose family withgetting a secondary street name for Holly Hill Drive. " Congratulations. Your growth over thepast year has been phenomenally impressive. Dear ClevelandWARD ONE Residents

Have you had Enough? by The Brown Team

Another year has come and gone, and most of us are wondering what happenedthe last 12 months. Let's take a drive down messed up Cleveland WARD ONEPolitical Lane. 1. January 2014 Cleveland City Council gave ClevelandBrowns owner Jimmy Haslam $30 million for a scoreboard. WARD ONECouncilperson was eager to give money designated to WARD ONE to abillionaire. Councilperson Terrel Pruitt neglected the streets and safety ofWARD ONE residents and business owners. 2. WARD ONE experienced over

Additionally, constituents ofDistrict 9 can expect me to advocate for increased funding to improve the infrastructure in ourneighborhoods. Overall my goal is to serve as a bridge-builder. It is my hope to connect thecommunities in the District through public and private partnerships. I fully understand my job is toserve, so in order to do that I must be open to receive input, suggestions and recommendations, as apublic servant, this is the very least my constituents can expect of me. Thank you for allowing me theprivilege to serve."

After 2.5 years, it took The Brown Report to executethe project of the re-naming of Holly Hill Drive to Michael Debose Drive. The Brown Reportgathered required signatures and submitted them to Cleveland City Hall. 4. Violence haveexploded between young people at John F. Kennedy and Inviticus Charter Schools and WARD ONEbusiness community remain filthy and ill-equipped to provide customer service and quality care toconsumers. 5. News net 5 reported, Pruitt is absent from committee meetings. In other words,WARD ONE lacks representation. Cleveland WARD ONE has and is experiencing lots of socialillnesses. The peril of how we live is atrocious. It's not because we can't do better - it is becausePruitt does not care, The Plain Dealer gave him a pass, and residents refuse to hold him accountable.

Let's Take a Look at their DutiesElected Officials are to uphold the Constitution. The Constitutionis what we as Americans adhere to. Why would any legislature notfollow or abide by our Constitution? Some have stated that thesefolks must not be true Americans, or they operate under theconcept of rational ignorance, and group think. - We as votersmust be held accountable for putting people in office.

The Elected is one who has been elected to a position by theirconstituents. According to Black's Law Dictionary, a "publicofficial" is "one who holds or is invested with a public office; aperson elected or appointed to carry out some portion of agovernment's sovereign powers." "Public officer" is defined in asimilar way. For this purpose, the terms "public officials,"“elected official," and "public officers" are interchangeable. Theseofficials have represented hundreds of residents, businesses andstake holders within their respective district. The official issupposed to support and advocate on behalf of the people theyrepresent. They are not supposed to push their own agenda(s). Inother words, they should vote for and support legislation that themajority of their constituents would support – to do otherwisewould be considered a derelict of official duty. Furthermore, thewill of constituents should override thoughts, hidden agendas andindividual feelings of a public official. They are elected to servethe people of which they represent. The government belongs tothe will of the people, and public officials should act inaccordance as they are elected by the people to decide for thecollective whole. The paramount interest of the majority iscompromising rather than a small pocket of followerscompromising with individuals for a small-group exchange.“Folks who are elected to serve are there to govern and serve thepeople not to rule people or push their own beliefs" (Slye 2011).Ultimately, they should strive to understand the cry of the wildand hear the plea of the people. Being quick to move an agendabecause of “pork belly” politics could be detrimental toindividuals, families, businesses and neighborhoods.

New Column "Hey Henley"

I'm a new column writer on education for The BrownReport Newspaper. Let me introduce myself.

My name is Gerald Carver Henley. I am the "last elected"president of the Cleveland Board of Education. I will beoffering answers and helping you with the necessaryexecution and implementation measures until we resolveproblems that we have set out eliminate in the Clevelandschools.

The main reason that I'm writing this column is to "providereasonable solutions" to the many educational problemsthat currently exist in the Cleveland School District. I willoffer answers and you will challenge me, and we willfigure out problems in the Cleveland School District ... oneby one. If you believe your solution is better than thesolution that I offer, by all means, please "implement" yourplan, because the Cleveland schools are at "rock bottomnow," and have been that way for the last 6 (six) or 7(seven) straight years. Plus the students can't wait anylonger. I am in a non-compromising mine set, and we haveto do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Let's identify the first big problem and the solutions.Problem # 1: Mayoral Control and the School Board, alongwith the Superintendent/CEO all appointed by the Mayor.By the way, were you aware that the Cleveland SchoolDistrict is the "only" school district in the State of Ohiothat has an appointed school board. And theSuperintendent/CEO is also appointed by the Mayor ofCleveland. Solution #1: Under this form of schoolgovernance, we must get rid of the Mayor and have hisappointed team.

In my next column, we willbegin preparing for theexecution and strategy of howwe educate our children.

These "incompetents andpuppets must go NOW!" I willsupply the Clevelandtaxpayers with enough "hardevidence," beginning in mynext column. The evidence tobe presented, could possiblylead to "CRIMINALPROSECUTION" for some ofthose crooks. T.V. Newsreporter, Carl Monday, is ontheir trail, "RIGHT NOW" forthe Clark School PUERTORICO excursion!

a Message from KimberlyF. Brown, Chief

Administratorof The Brown Report

There is a story to be told. There are stories to be shared. There arepeople to speak with. We must talk to people to understand the truth andfacts. When we share information, we can face challenges, plan attacks, andseek amicable resolutions. We are able to learn, effectively confront conflictand move forward for the betterment of our communities. It is imperative toremember the struggles of our ancestors. If we understood the threat of hategroups and terrorist, we would be able to embrace our differences withoutbecoming political, corporate, pastoral and street bullies. As we understandour battles, we will be successful at winning the war

As we enter the year 2015, I am often reminded of the brick that shattered my campaignoffice, and banners that were destroyed in the middle of the night by the opposition. I contemplatethe silence we received from the main-stream media. I relive the hurt and the pain. I began toresearch the issues of Mayor Yolonda Broadie of Woodmere and Mayor Jane Campbell of of theCity of Cleveland. (Broadie is the former mayor of Woodmere Village and Campbell is theformer mayor of Cleveland, Ohio. ) I shake my head about Miesha Headen who is the formerMayor of Richmond Heights. I am appalled at the back-room deals and under cover back-stabbingbehavior that causes women to be removed from office or being elected to serve. It is a man'sworld. However, it is nothing without the strong voice of the woman. Constantly, we watchmain-stream media shut down women and destroy poor families. We watched them endorse theirbuddies, family members and favorite political chums. They will push their individual agenda andfail to hold elected officials accountable. They marvel in building you up until the federalinvestigators surface, then they will gratefully tear you down. They will not give you a warning. Many will find themselves shackled as they make room for them in a jail cell. We call this theplague of Jimmy Dimora. Dimora should have been quarantined, but his political party andmedia allies allowed him to believe he was untouchable as they all lived in a world of politicaldelusion.

The Brown Report Newspaper is not perfect. We are fair. We do not and will not playfavorites. As we embark upon a new year, we will become stronger and more observant. Out offairness, we will reach out to those we are writing about prior to posting on our blogs, andcompleting stories for our printed version of the newspaper. We will give elected officials achance to tell their side of the story. However, if an official chose not to respond, we will makemention and continue to promote the story. For the record, we are uncensored. We do not allowoutside entities to disturb our process, threaten our writers and create unnecessary festeredturmoil. We despise secret meetings and "play to pay" activities. We are not mascots to thepolitical establishment. We are avid supporters of community members seeking a voice andrealistic change. Most elected officials give us stories by way of their unscrupulous behavior. Weare eager to move The Brown Report in a more supportive and positive light -help us do so bymonitoring your behavior - only then can we get it right!
