In the beginning it was not this way. Man was created to fellowship with God. And they did, until that fateful day when in rebellion man turned his back on God. Adam could do any thing he wanted, except one. Gen. 2:17 “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Death is separation. Adam chose that day to be separated from God. Rom. 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned”

The Bible says we cannot bridge this gap ourselves, that God needed to do it
through His grace –(a gift you can’t earn)
which is the God given power to do his will.
