Baseball novelist John H. Ritter wrote the book The Boy Who Saved Baseball. After high school, John attended the University of California at San Diego where he met his wife Cheryl who is now an elementary school teacher. Like their grown daughter, Jolie, who runs her own espresso cafe.

Setting

The setting of this story takes place in Dillontown, California.

•Tom went over to Doc’s house and cried to convince Doc not to sell his land.

Summary

Tom went to the town meeting to see if Doc would sell his land.

Tom’s team was practicing for the big game that would decide the fate of the town but suddenly

Cruz De La Cruz rode in on his horse.

Tom and Cruz rode their horses up to Rattlesnake Ridge to see if Del Gato would coach

there team.

Tom and Cruz broke part of Del Gato’s wall when they tried to get in.

When Del Gato came out with his shotgun they talked to him about coaching their team in the

big game.

Then Del Gato picked up a chicken by the neck and snapped it.

During the big game when Tom hit the winning ball Doc died from all the pressure that was put

on him.

build a golf course and a pond.

Opinions

My opinion is that this is a must read book for ages 8-12 years old. This book is so interesting

you can’t put it down once you start it!!!!!
