Originally Samuel was one book. Later it was divided into 1 and 2 Samuel

One of the most significant contributions to the Old Testament is found in 2Samuel 17. This is the prophecy of Nathan.

In this prophecy David is promised an eternal dynasty which will be understood as a promise for a Messiah from the House of David.

The Books of Kings traces the short-lived Israelite Kingdom from the building of the temple to the fall of Jerusalem.
