I would feel comfortable using them. I’m not the
type to go and look for it. If there
were more natural products available, then I would be more
likely to buy. But I’m kind of
indifferent. I do feel there would
be some positives. I would
buy them if it’s better for me and
still does the same job.
Wouldn’t buy anything that is too oily. Will not buy things that
are too dry either. Looking for

L’Oreal is good but they can do
better. They can be more exciting.
The Body Shop has aspects that L’Oreal should have in their
brand. The fact that The Body Shop’s core
values has been conserved after the acquisition, makes it an ok
relationship. It’s definitely weird because The
Body Shop acts like a smaller
company but it’s not.

When I go into their store I get

but I haven’t bought for awhile.
There are too many little items, I don’t know what
to buy. They used to focus more on soap,
but I’m not really into soap. I
rather just go with Dove than to go with their more
elaborate stuff. If I want to spend more money, I
rather spend it on face or body

I’m on the fence. It doesn’t need
to be natural, but if I like the smell of it, and I know it’s natural, then I will choose that over something that is not good and not natural. Natural would be more important. I like less smell
or almost no smell. I would choose natural attribute over
fragrance.
I’m indifferent as long as it works and it doesn’t
irritate my skin.
I tried Dr. Hauska and
Derma E but I broke out in it. I felt like there bumps in my skin – didn’t
feel like it was cleaning that well. I don’t
feel like there is proper science
and right technology
behind it yet. It doesn’t
matter how natural it is, it has to suite
me. If I like it, I will try. Some has really nice packaging. I did try, but somehow I didn’t quite
believe in it. Just telling me natural is not going to cut it.
It’s not the first thing I look at.
If I pick up a product that
interested me and it’s
natural, I would try it.
But I wouldn’t discount it just because it’s not natural.

Because it’s more about
lifestyle and you feel if they care about the same causes as you,
you have something in
common. And if you care about animals, you would want to
support a company that is against animal
testing.
I think there are a lot of ways that
businesses can do it. Promise not to test on animals, part of proceeds
go to charity. Absolutely.
Because it is something that
draws more attention from
women. If they make
donations or some kind of fund that they
can support for women, with their product
sales, then that can be
meaningful for something like breast cancer research or
osteoporosis.
I think every industry where it’s consumer part, people can do their part to better the world.
There’s examples of it
being successful –
especially with The Body
Shop and with MAC.

It makes me more likely to consider it. Happy about not

It makes me feel good. If I buy something and $1 goes to breast cancer research, then I would support it. Sometimes I
do that. I purposely

surprised,
deceiving,
L’Oreal separates itself from The Body
Shop. You would have
never known. L’Oreal doesn’t
push animal testing as much,
whereas The Body Shop
supports that. You can’t tell
from any of the branding.
Makes me more comfortable with buying The Body
Shop because the quality of the
products that I have bought from L’Oreal in the past has worked, so if it works, I would stick
with it.
I think that’s a good thing that L’Oreal owns
The Body Shop. I have no reasons to like or dislike about that. I
think it’s a good idea.
It doesn’t really change my views for anything that L’Oreal owns
The Body Shop. L’Oreal can take some cues from The Body Shop to
be more socially
conscious. I think L’Oreal has initiatives too but it’s not as well known as The Body
Shop’s initiatives.

I don’t know. I just use these things and I’m quite happy
with it. Lancome is
something that I want to buy because I feel like there is a lot of science there. I think the product
could be good but I’m not in a
position to switch my skin
care to Lancome. I
recently bought Genefique serum and

When you have someone
helping you. You often don’t
know new products that are out there.
If you are given samples to try

There are so many products out there, and it is difficult to

Sephora
Starbuck’s has great customer

Lot of times I buy things from
The Bay (especially one in Southgate is
very nicely arranged, good
customer service, more

know exactly where things
are, and there is always someone
there, and it’s not too busy, loyalty card). Body Shop is
also one example.

Sephora – I like the products and

Because the girls always have been

coolness factor
I can’t remember.
Customer service could definitely use some work. Some
girls could be condescending, or they don’t notice you are there, or you get the other extreme where
they push you to buy something.
The girls that they hire are extremely
average. They seem to only know what I could read
myself on the labels. They
couldn’t tell me whether it would be
good or bad for sensitive skin. Sometimes the scents are so strong and so competing, it
makes my stomach hurt. It makes me not
want to buy anything because it
irritates my system. I try not to
They had this sale – I saw
sale sign on. They had 2 for $20, so I went and I got the
products. With my points card,
I got a good discount. I remember
there was this girl that was trying new
things, and she was making a
fuss about things, and was
yelling at the customer
service reps. Somehow
there was a kafuffle going on. I had to
stand in line for some time, so
they apologized.

Always on my way. It’s a nice
location in West
Edmonton Mall. When I need
it, I know I have to go and
get it. Sometimes I
go to see what they have, and drop by to see what they are selling, if there are any deals
going on. I use their lip balm too. It’s very nice. Body
butter is awesome. I also use their moisturizing cream. We
use their soap. It was the products.

The Company that donates a percentage of its products selling price for social cause is favorable. However, the products needs to be eco-friendly and as effective as their non-natural counterparts. Also, they shouldn’t increase the price of the product to compensate for the donation. That is cheating!

Beauty has become so much more in terms of people, they are selling
more than products (lifestyle, image, etc), so you HAVE to sell
the socially responsible image
Every company should, they owe it to society

Environmental-related causes
Like them, use their products for almost
everything, don't consider them premium,
well known brand
L'Oreal as a beauty company is very well established, lots of different lines that target a different
demographic. As a business student, I can appreciate what they
are doing. They spend a lot on R&D and I
personally know people who work there and I
am impressed.
They are a corporation out to get money and may not have the best interest of
their consumers or society. For example, in India they
promote the whiteness products (i.e. not self-
esteem) which proves their double standards
Shocked, didn't expect that at all, The Body
Shop is more natural so didn't think L'Oreal
would be into that stuff
L'Oreal needs to start supporting these
causes too
They should not own them, The Body Shop should be run independently. Now it's
just part of another large corporation

thereSee if the benefits are really worth the price
Customized for my skin type
Pretty satisfied, buy it a lot (Body Butter, facial
products)
Satisfied with some products but not with
everything. I think they are mediocre at best. They
products are overly-fragranced that tends to
affect people with allergies

Heard from people that they swear by a set line
of products, and it's very hard to get them to switch unless they
ask for a recommendation

The Body Shop BBW Shopper's Drug Mart
Just so much fun!More tailored to help the
client
Got multiple products to choose from at a large Shopper's Drug Mart.
There is no pressure to choose a particular brand,
and you can spend as much time as you want
reading up and browsing through the products
Looking for face cream that wouldn't dry out my skin, and had no idea
what to look for. I asked a salesperson who asked a bunch of
questions and explained why the stuff I am using
is drying it out. She showed me the Vitamin E moisturizer and made me try it out on my skin, which really helped. She wasn't aggressive and
mentioned extra promotions but left me
alone to decide
About 2 weeks ago, went in to refill some
products. But they had a buy 2 get 1 free, or buy 3 get 2 free - got
great deals. Fast service. Fun!
I got 1/2 off so I ended up buying a lot. The staff was
very nice and they had orange bags so I donated
$5 to some cause
