THE BOARD OF FAMILY SERVICE OF GLENCOE

WELCOMES YOU TO

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENTS

Dear  Friends,  We  are  grateful  for  your  presence  here  tonight  as  we  come  together  in  support  of  Family  Service  of  Glencoe,  and  thank  our  gracious  hosts,  Mr.  and  Mrs.  Bruce  Bachmann  for  making  this  beautiful  Ravinia  setting    for  our  benefit  possible.    We  want  to  thank  our  benefit  committee  chairpersons,  Anne  McPhee  and  Claudia  Mion-‐Spiesz,  for  their  hard  work,  creativity  and  dedication  to  making  tonight's  benefit  a  wonderful  experience  for  everyone.

Our  gratitude  also  extends  to  the  rest  of  the  board.  We  are  so  appreciative  of  their  talents  and  dedication  to  FSG.  Thank  you!    It  has  been  a  time  of  transition  and  new  beginnings  for  the  organization  we  are  so  proud  to  support.  In  December  of  2011,  we  bid  farewell  to  Nancy  Sutherland  upon  her  retirement  after  13  years  of  dedicated  service,  and  welcomed  Susan  Cowen  as  our  new  Executive  Director.

In  less  than  five  months,  Susan  has  already  shown  herself  to  be  a  wonderful  addition  to  FSG,  bringing  her  combined  strengths  in  clinical  casework  and  managerial  expertise  to  the  helm  of  our  mission-‐driven  nonprofit.  As  we  look  toward  FSG's  centennial  year  in  2014,  we  are  confident  in  her  ability  to  set  a  strong  course  for  our  agency  and  are  excited  by  the  opportunities  she  is  identifying  to  expand  both  the  reach  and  impact  of  FSG.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENTS

Our  annual  benefit  is  a  critical  source  of  support  for  FSG.    Your  presence  tonight  along  with  your  continued  generosity  throughout  the  year  make  it  possible  for  the  talented  and  devoted  staff  of  FSG  to  do  the  work  that  they  do:  assessing  the  needs  of  those  who  live  and  work  here;  supporting  our  friends  and  neighbors  when  they  most  need  our  help,  including  the  many  who  cannot  afford  to  pay;  and  creating  programs  that  enhance  the  health,  strength  and  well-‐being    of  our  community.

We  thank  you  –  our  supporters  –    for  your  partnership  in  making  a  stronger  Glencoe  possible.  Your  generosity  makes    a  huge  difference  in  the  life  of  this  community.  Have  a  wonderful  evening!

Kim  Cornell  and  Victoria  Lovely  Co-‐Presidents  of  the  Board  Family  Service  of  Glencoe

FAMILY SERVICE OF GLENCOE

For  almost  100  years,  Family  Service  of  Glencoe’s  commitment  has  remained  strong  and  steady,  providing  support  to  those  who  live  and  work  in  Glencoe  through  challenging  times,  and  programs  that  strengthen  the  bonds  of  our  community.

In  2011,  donors  to  FSG  helped  make  the  following  possible:  •  Family,  couples,  youth  and  individual  counseling,

available  at  a  sliding  scale  for  those  in  need  and  at  no  charge  to  the  unemployed

•  24-‐hour  crisis  intervention  in  partnership  with  Glencoe  Public  Safety

•  Domestic  violence  intervention  and  prevention

•  Parent  education  and  support  through  our  Youth  and  Family  Outreach  work  and  our  Glencoe  Parent  Connection  programs
