A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENTS
Dear Friends, We are grateful for your presence here tonight as we come together in support of Family Service of Glencoe, and thank our gracious hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bachmann for making this beautiful Ravinia setting for our benefit possible. We want to thank our benefit committee chairpersons, Anne McPhee and Claudia Mion-‐Spiesz, for their hard work, creativity and dedication to making tonight's benefit a wonderful experience for everyone.
Our gratitude also extends to the rest of the board. We are so appreciative of their talents and dedication to FSG. Thank you! It has been a time of transition and new beginnings for the organization we are so proud to support. In December of 2011, we bid farewell to Nancy Sutherland upon her retirement after 13 years of dedicated service, and welcomed Susan Cowen as our new Executive Director.
In less than five months, Susan has already shown herself to be a wonderful addition to FSG, bringing her combined strengths in clinical casework and managerial expertise to the helm of our mission-‐driven nonprofit. As we look toward FSG's centennial year in 2014, we are confident in her ability to set a strong course for our agency and are excited by the opportunities she is identifying to expand both the reach and impact of FSG.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENTS
Our annual benefit is a critical source of support for FSG. Your presence tonight along with your continued generosity throughout the year make it possible for the talented and devoted staff of FSG to do the work that they do: assessing the needs of those who live and work here; supporting our friends and neighbors when they most need our help, including the many who cannot afford to pay; and creating programs that enhance the health, strength and well-‐being of our community.
We thank you – our supporters – for your partnership in making a stronger Glencoe possible. Your generosity makes a huge difference in the life of this community. Have a wonderful evening!
Kim Cornell and Victoria Lovely Co-‐Presidents of the Board Family Service of Glencoe

FAMILY SERVICE OF GLENCOE
For almost 100 years, Family Service of Glencoe’s commitment has remained strong and steady, providing support to those who live and work in Glencoe through challenging times, and programs that strengthen the bonds of our community.
In 2011, donors to FSG helped make the following possible: • Family, couples, youth and individual counseling,
available at a sliding scale for those in need and at no charge to the unemployed
• 24-‐hour crisis intervention in partnership with Glencoe Public Safety
• Domestic violence intervention and prevention
• Parent education and support through our Youth and Family Outreach work and our Glencoe Parent Connection programs

AUCTION RULES 1. Silent auction tables will open at 6:30 p.m. and close at 9:30 p.m. Last calls for bidding will be
announced at that time. You may pay and collect your merchandise beginning at 10 p.m.
2. All bids must be made with the bid number on the bid number card that you will receive at check-‐in. Each silent auction item has a lot number and a minimum bid amount. Please note that you will be bidding with an electronic device provided by HilcoBid. HilcoBid staff will wear identification and circulate throughout the silent auction room and the dining room. They will collect your bids and assist you while you are bidding.
3. To bid, enter your bid number, the lot number and the bid amount on electronic devices provided by HilcoBid staff. You will be able to follow your lot number via monitor displays located in the silent auction room and in the dining room, where you will be able to continue bidding.
4. Minimum bids are indicated in your program book and on the HilcoBid electronic devices. Subsequent bids must increase by the bid increments noted on the HilcoBid electronic devices and in your program book.
5. The current bid for items will be displayed on the monitors. If a bidder enters a new bid on an item, the display for that item will flash indicating the new high bid.
6. The final bid for all silent auction items will be displayed on the monitors upon the close of the silent auction and will represent the winning bid. If a new high bid is made within three minutes of the close of the silent auction at 9:30 p.m., the bidding process for that item will remain open until the high bid has remained unchanged for three minutes. At that time, the bidding for that item will close.
7. Raffle: The Raffle winner will receive fifty percent of the total price of raffle tickets sold for the event, splitting the pot with Family Service of Glencoe. FSG will provide the winner with a check for the winning amount at checkout.
8. Heads or Tails Game: The Heads or Tails game will take place at 9:45 p.m. on the dance floor. The band leader will announce the game rules, and the winner will be chosen at the end of the game. The winner will pick up his or her prize at checkout.
9. Live Auction: To bid, signal the Auctioneer. It is the responsibility of the bidder to make certain that his or her bid is acknowledged by the Auctioneer. The Auctioneer’s decision as to the successful bidder is final.
10. When the auctioneer announces “SOLD” for a Live Auction item, title for that item will pass to the highest bidder.
11. No pets or unaccompanied minors may take part in any of the auction experiences.
12. Payments must be made in full on the night of the benefit, May 5, 2012. Checks should be made payable to Family Service of Glencoe.
13. All sales are final; no exchanges or refunds.
14. Values set for the items being auctioned are estimates given by the donors and are not guaranteed by FSG. Purchases are tax deductible only to the extent that the amount paid exceeds the fair market value of the item.
15. Please note any and all restrictions for auction items stated in the displays and gift certificates. Items are not redeemable for cash. Restrictions have been outlined as provided by donors. Unless otherwise stated, restaurant certificates do not include tax, gratuity or alcoholic beverages.
16. By his or her purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liabilities against FSG or the donor of the respective item or service. Neither FSG nor the donors are responsible for any personal injury or damage to property that may result from the use of the item or service sold.
17. Items will not be released without payment in full. All items must be removed from the premises the night of the auction.
18. Family Service of Glencoe accepts no responsibility for the validity of the description, value, authenticity or condition with respect to any item offered nor does it make any guarantee or warranty. 9
