From the Principal’s desk…
There is so much good stuff going on here at East Hill, it is hard to summarize it all. Just this week, we had a tremendous finish to Soccer for Success. Yada Thach and Ed Padilla were our head coaches, introducing soccer and character education to our students for 12 weeks in the Fall and Spring. Their family event was a celebration of all of the hard work of coaches and kids, with everyone getting a certificate and a soccer ball. We signed an agreement with Washington State Youth Soccer for next year’s season. We had our final PTA meeting of the year, with recognition of our hard working board members; they do so much for our kids and teachers! Tammy McClimans is moving up to Mill Creek to become the PTA president after years of service to East Hill. Yada Thach is moving up to Cedar Heights as their PTA president; it seems that the East Hill PTA grows leaders! When I walk around before or after school, the incredible energy and dedication of our staff never ceases to amaze me. Joy Thrall, unleashing creativity and imagination of young scientists/engineers in our new Makers Club. Rhonda Kent practicing with students in the morning for upcoming choir concerts. Teachers still planning engaging lessons while at the same time working hard to make class lists for next year, ensuring each child has a teacher that is just right for them. No stumbling at East Hill, it’s a sprint to the finish!
