Edward the Confessor had no heir, and as he got on very well with William I , his cousin . He decided to appoint future King of England when he is dead . Harold was not happy, he would have preferred to become the King of England in place of William I.

embroidery of 70 meters .Celebrating the conquest of England by William the Conqueror, Duke of Normandy. The linen was embroidered after the Battle of Hastings, probably in a monastery in southern England .Viking ships and cavalry Norman and Saxon contribute to the exploits of William I and his opponent Harold, another pretender to the throne of England.
