pretty important. You need me to stay

ALIVE!BUT I LIKE TO HIDE.

I hide deep under the earth

75% of Cambodians cannot find enough of me every day?

This is my friend Chet Sakun.

He has 6 children and 3 hectares of land.

Before he found me…

…his family had to walk 3 – 6 hours a day to fetch water

This meant no chance of school.

They had no safe drinking water. The children got sick with diarrhea. Some children in the community died.

They could NEVER feel truly clean.

For most of the year, their land was too dry to grow crops.

They could grow rice only once a year, when it rained.

No crops to grow = no crops to sell

Chet Sakun’s income was about 50 cents a day.

To feed a family of 8.

Chet’s family were caught in a poverty trap.

Their bamboo shack could not keep them safe from the weather.

Chet left the family to find better work.

Some of the families in the village even had to sell their children to have enough income to survive.

Can you imagine how that must feel?

Then everything changed.

Tabitha Foundation gave the family a water pond.

The people from

Tabitha had to dig hard to find me!
