LOOKBACK – YOUR CLUB 30 YEARS AGO In the three months since the first public meeting on 16

th March, the Club made sound progress in its

formation.

Corporate Affairs issued approval for registration for the Halls Head Sporting & Recreation

Club.

Club funds increased to $7,380 from new membership.

The Draft Constitution and Standing Orders completed by Keith Dhu were submitted to a

Special General Meeting on 29th June 1989. Following a lively debate on a number of clauses,

it was amended and unanimously passed by the 36 attending members.

The colours of Royal Blue, Light Blue and Red together with the Club logo and badge design

were accepted by the meeting.

The Steering Committee – Rick Francis (Chair) Ev Manton, Keith Dhu, John Hiller, Rod Harrod

(Treasurer) Pam Walker (Secretary) Maurie Pearce (Asst. Sec) June Reany and John Newton, all

worked together tirelessly with the vision and goal for the establishment of a successful Bowling Club

in the growing Halls Head area. Through their commitment and efforts, their dream would become a

reality beyond their wildest expectations.

To be the best club in the league both on and off the greens at all times.
