Key DatesAugust 16, 1962 - Manager Brian Epstein fires drummer Pete Best and hires Ringo Starr.
October 5, 1962 - The group release their first single, Love Me Do. Epstein reportedly buys 10,000 copies to ensure it a place in the top 20.
February 16, 1963 - Please Please Me becomes the Beatles' first number one single in England
November 22, 1963 - The release of their second album, With the Beatles.
April 4, 1964 - Beatles records occupy the first five spots on the American singles chart. 1 to 5 are Can't Buy Me Love, Twist and Shout, She Loves You, I Want
to Hold Your Hand and Please, Please Me.
July 10, 1964 - Album number three, A Hard Day's Night, a soundtrack to the film.
August 26 1966 - The Beatles play their last concert at Candlestick park in San Francisco. Their decision to stop touring allows them to spend more time in the
studio
August 27, 1967 - Brian Epstein is found dead in his home following an accidental sleeping pill overdose. The Beatles return to London for the funeral. John
Lennon later claims this signalled the beginning of the end for the Beatles
September 26, 1969 - Abbey Road.
December 8, 1980 - John Lennon is murdered in New York.
November 30, 2001 - George Harrison dies of cancer.

Who Have They Inspired?
The Beatles have inspired many artists today
including people like Jake Bugg, Oasis,
Coldplay, Chuck Berry and Pink Floyd.
The Beatles even inspired a film to be made
about John Lennon's Childhood and the start
of the band.

Nowhere Boy
Nowhere Boy is a 2009 British biopic about John Lennon's
adolescence, his relationships with his guardian aunt and
his mother, the creation of his first band, The Quarrymen,
and its evolution into The Beatles. The film is based on a
biography written by Lennon's half-sisterJulia Baird. The
film received its US release on 8 October 2010, coinciding
with that weekend's celebrations of the 70th anniversary of
Lennon's birth (9 October 1940)
