    BANNEROFLOVE

    perous new year in

    2014.. God still loves

    His children.

    Love you-all

    Bishop Bogue

    From the Bishop

Standing On the Shoulders of Giants

    Praise the Lord Every-

    one,

    Here we are with

    the last issue of 2013.

    Thanksgiving is past

and I pray that every-one had a beautiful

    time during this holiday

time. It is good to give

    thanks for what God

    has blessed us with,

    but we should give

    thanks every day for

    his blessings. Thank

    Him for His mercy.

    Now Christmas is com-

ing on and we must notlose track of the reason

    for the season. Jesus

    was not born on De-

    cember 25th, but it is

good to set aside a day

    to worship the birth of

    our Lord and Savior,

    Jesus Christ. People

    are running to and fro

    to buy gifts for each

other that most will dis-card within 3 months.

    During this season,

    how about giving a gift

    to Him.All He wants is

    your whole heart.

    Present your bodies a

    living sacrifice, holy,

    acceptable unto God.

    We are always wanting

    God to give us some-

    thing.

How about giv-ing yourself to Him. I

    wish every one a

    blessed holiday season

    and a happy and pros-

    Church of Jesus Christ Organi-

zation in 1965, and the Banner of

Love in 1966. He will be remem-bered as a tenderhearted, loving

and forgiving man of faith whose

life passion was the Kingdom of

God. We do well to follow his

    example.

    Remember them that had the

rule over you, men that spake

unto you the word of God; and

considering the issue of their life,

    imitate their faith Heb 13:7

Bishop H.E. Honea was a man of

deep, abiding faith in God and

love for people. He went home to

be with the Lord on June 10,

    2009 leaving behind an impres-

sive legacy of life and ministry.

Born Oct. 30, 1939. He was saved

and called to preach in April

1953, filled with the Holy Ghost

in 1955 and baptized in Name ofJesus Christ in 1958. He preached

in 32 states, 3 foreign countries

and pastored in 4 states. Or-

    dained Bishop in 1965, Bishop

    Honea ordained 120 ministers

    and 32 surrendered to preach

    under his ministry. Bishop Honea

    pastored the Tullahoma Church

for 46 years and founded the First

The First Church of Jesus Christ

    Christmas Musings

    Silent Night, Holy Night

    Seven Principles of Church Growth

    Remember too the Christ-

    child, grew up to be a man;

to hide Him in a cradle, isnot our dear Lords plan.

    So keep the Christmas spirit,

share it with others far and

near, from week to week and

    month to month, through-

    out the entire year.

    HAPPY

    BIRTHDAY

    JESUS!

    Christmas Gift Suggestions

    To your enemy, forgiveness

    To an opponent, tolerance

    To a friend, your heart

    To a customer, service

    To all, charity

To every child, a good exam-

    ple

    To yourself, respect

    Let Every Day Be Christmas

    Christmas is forever. Not for

just one day, for loving, shar-

ing, giving, are not to put

away like bells and lights and

tinsel, in some box upon a

    shelf.

The good you do for others

    is good you do yourself.

Peace on Earth, good will to

    men, kind thoughts and

words of cheer, are things we

    should use often and not

    just once a year.

    never old-fashioned to preach

    the basics of the Christian

    lifestyle. Never before in our

history has the need for doc-

    trine and holiness been more

crucial and vital to our growth

    and development as an organiza-

tion. It is my genuine desire that

    this ongoing series will inspire

and encourage you and serve asa platform from which to launch

your Church to a whole new

    phase of growth

    Continued Next Month

    Preaching and Teaching the Word

    1. We get what we preach! For

example: In one 600 plus mem-

ber Church in Austin, TX , over

90% of regular attendees age 10

and older have the Holy Ghost.

    2. We need positive, encouraging,

    faith building, visitor oriented

    preaching! While there is always

a time for serious discussion of

    serious issue, those times should

be set aside for special occasions

    involving primarily the Saints.

    Fire and Brimstone preaching

will simply not have the growth

    results we seek.

    3. We need the systematic teaching

    of doctrine. To affect desired

    and sustained growth we need

saints that are well versed and

    grounded in the fundamentals

of our faith. This will enable

them to stand up against theonslaught of false teachings they

    face each day.

    4. We need the systematic teaching

    of the Christian Lifestyle. Holi-

ness never goes out of style. It is

place, all alone. Let Him renew your

springs that will never dry up.

Let this be your Christmas gift to Jesus. The reward will be a fresh start and a

renewed heart where all is calm and all is

bright. Silent Night, Oh Holy Night.

We hustle and bustle from before

Thanksgiving till after the New Year. We

get so busy with family and friends,

shopping and cooking, giving and receiv-ing. We get smack dab wore out.

How much more meaningful our Christ-

mas would be if we deliberately planned

some quiet time alone with Jesus.

The Bible often exhorts us to invest time

alone in Prayer. Mt 6:6 tells us to go into

our room and shut the door and pray to

our Father who is in the secret place and

our Father who sees in secret will reward

    us openly.

Notice how the Lord met the Christmas

characters alone in that secret place.

Zacharias was alone in the temple when

Gabriel appeared to him at the altar.

Mary was alone when the same angel

appeared to her. Joseph was alone when

the Angel of the Lord spoke to him in a

dream. What a wonderful reward. JESUS

Before you know it, Christmas will be

gone. One of the most important times

of the year! Our celebration of Jesus our

    Savior.

Let us spend a night or two in that secret

    Page 3Volume 2, Issue 12

    We desire not only to

    see believers live

    victoriously, but to help

    them become rooted

    and grounded enough

    in Gods Word to reach

    out and teach others

    these same principles

    We believe:

In the One True and Living God who has manifested himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Dt 6:4; Mt 28:19, Jn8:24)

The Bible alone is the inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God, our only guide to faith and conduct. (II Tim 3:16; II Pe1:20-21)

Created in the image and likeness of God, man was gi ven authority and dominion over all creation. Through Adams transgression, sin

    and death entered into the world, man's righteousness was lost and his authority and dominion was handed over to the devil. (Ge1:26-28;

    Ro 5:12; Lk 4:5-6)

Because of his great love for us, God took upon himself the form of man and came to our aid. Thus, Jesus Christ, the only begotten

Son of God-truly God, truly man-was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of a virgin, was crucified, died and was buried.

    (Jn 3:16; Is 7:14; Jn 1:1-3; Jn 8:29; Acts 2:36; I Co 15:3,4)

This same Jesus defeated Satan and all the powers of darkness, taking from them the keys of death and hell, and overcoming de ath

itself, resurrected from the grave. No longer the only begotten Son, He arose the First-born from the dead, the First-born of a New

Creation and First-born of many brethren. (Rev 1:5,18; Col 1:15-18 )

Jesus ascended into heaven, giving gifts to men. Now seated at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for us all, He has sent

forth his Spirit to indwell and empower believers. (Mk 16:19; Eph 4:8-11; Acts 2:33; Jn 16:7)

As the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life. You must be born again of water and the Spirit,

receiving Him as Lord and Savior, in order to see the K ingdom of God. The righteousness, authority and dominion, lost by Adam in the

Garden of Eden, is now restored In Christ. (Jn 3:5; Acts 2:38; I Tim 6:15; Jn 14:6; Jn 3:3; II Co 5:17,21)

Water baptism is by immersion in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remissi on of sins, in obedience to the direct command of the Word

    of God. In this ordinance, we are identified with our Lord in hi s death, burial and resurrection. (Mk 16:15,16; Acts 2:38; 8:12; 10:48;

    19:5; 22:16)

His promise to baptize believers with the Holy Ghost and fire. According to the scriptures and the experience of history, thi sis accom-

panied with the evidence of signs and wonders including speaking with other tongues, boldness to witness and ability to declare His Word

in the demonstration of the Spirit and power. (Mt 3:11; Acts 1:4,5,8; Acts 2:4,38; Acts 4:31, I Co 2:4)

All of the gifts of the spirit are functional in the church today, available to all believers. (I Co 12:1-12)

In sanctification through the Word of God by the Holy Ghost, personal holiness and purity of heart and life. (Jn 15:3; I Th 4:3-4; I Pe

    1:15)

The substitutionary atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ paid not only for the salvation of our spirits but also for the healing of our

bodies. Thus, divine healing, through faith in the Name of Jesus, is included in our redemption. Believers will lay hands on the sick and

    they shall recover.

    (Is 53:4-5; I Pe 2:24: Mt 8:17; Mark 16:15)

In the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the eternal joy of the saved and the eternal punishment of the

    lost.

    (I Th 4:14-18; Acts 1:9-11; Mt 25:31-46;)

As believers we have been given a universal commission to go into the entire world and preach the Gospel making disciples of all

    nations. (Mk 16:15-20; Mt 28:18-20; Lk 24:47-49; Acts 1:8)

God has set in his church, the five-fold ministry gifts of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers, for the purp ose of

equipping of the saints. These anointed believers in t urn carry out the work of ministry, thus building up the Body of Christ. (Eph 4:10-

    16)
