There is not a meeting for July as there are 2 field trips. The first one is on 7/9 to the Agate Expo in Cedarburg. AGATE EXPO IN CEDARBURG July 7, 2016 - July 10, 2016 Cedarburg More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the 2016 Agate Expo. The Symposium (July 7, 2016), which takes place at Cedarburg Performing Arts Center, will consist of world-renowned geologists, authors and collectors from around the globe. The seminars will cover topics ranging from the different types of agates, their formations and locations, to the history of Lapidary Arts. Tickets to the Symposium cost $125. The Show Floor and Exhibit will be open to the public (Friday-Sunday) and consist of 40 vendors from around the world, showcasing their products for collectors and rock enthusiasts. Specimens, tumbled stone, jewelry and home decor are but some of the items that will be for sale. Approximately 100 collectors and geologists will be invited to exhibit a portion of their private collections in what is being called the largest gathering of agate collections on display in one place that this country has ever seen. Art Gala Night at the Cedarburg Cultural Center (Friday) is planning on having 4 to 6 Agate Artists display their art at the Cedarburg Cultural Center. And several photographers will have their award-winning photographs on display. The Art Gala Night is a free event to the public, with appetizers, the official "Agate Expo" wine from Cedar Creek Winery, and live local music as part of the fun. Banquet Celebration (Saturday) will be held at the St. Mary's Center at Ozaukee Fairgrounds in Cedarburg. The ticketed event can accommodate approximately 400 people and the guest speaker will be Brad Cross, author of many agate books, including "Treasures of Northern Mexico."

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Bring your swim suit and stay the day! Sand, Mud and Water are Promised! MONTELLO SCOTTISH FEST July 16, 2016 Montello Clan tents, dog herding, dancers, tug-of-war competitions, Scottish Diaspora Tapestry Display and more! View the 304 panels of the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry that has traveled the world! Each panel was hand-stitched, beginning in 2013, in places around the world that have had a Scottish influence. There are two panels representing Marquette County. One is of naturalist John Muir, who was born in Scotland and spent his boyhood years in Marquette County. The other is of the Montello Granite Quarry, which employed many Scots.

RAIL FAIR July 16, 2016 La Crosse Rail Fair traditionally hosts vendors from six states offering 280 tables of railroad related merchandise. Rail Fair patrons will have the opportunity to buy, sell and trade an outstanding selection of model, toy and antique trains, books,

magazines, railroad memorabilia, railroad art, hobby supplies, repair & replacement parts & accessories, and many more related items. The La Crosse Short Line Railroad Museum will be open for guided tours. The big steam locomotive whistle can be blown for a small donation. Several railroad exhibits and displays will also be offered, including a working telegraph display, where visitors can send and receive telegraph messages to and from Grand Crossing Tower. Concessions will be provided by Frontier-Badger #45 Masonic Lodge. Admission is just $5. Children under 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. All proceeds from this event are used to maintain and restore The La Crosse Short Line Railroad Museum.

BURNING COW MUSIC FESTIVAL July 21, 2016 - July 23, 2016 Sturgeon Bay Burning Cow Music Festival II will rise from the ashes and ignite Sturgeon Bay with another colossal 3 day lineup of southern rock, blues, alt-country, and jam bands. MAGIC LANTERN SHOW AT PENDARVIS July 23, 2016 Mineral Point Relive the tales and exploits of famous Wisconsin Dells photographer H.H. Bennett through a period magic lantern show; Bennett's favorite way to promote the Dells' natural beauty. The special exhibit, Selections from the Sites: Pendarvis, First Capitol, Stonefield, Villa Louis, and H. H. Bennett Studio will be open for viewing after the presentation.

SW WISCONSIN TRACTOR & EQUIPMENT RIDE July 23, 2016 Fennimore Farmers and city folk participate in a tractor and equipment ride throughout rural country roads. DANE COUNTY FAIR July 20, 2016 - July 24, 2016 Madison Enjoy fabulous fair food, an interactive children’s petting zoo, carnival rides along with great entertainment. BARABOO'S BIG TOP PARADE & CIRCUS

CELEBRATION July 23, 2016 - July 24, 2016 Baraboo If you’re looking for a cornucopia of colossal fun, then head to Baraboo, Wisconsin for the 4th Annual Baraboo’s Big Top Parade & Circus Celebration. The two-day celebration will commemorate the community’s stupendous circus heritage as the historic home of the world-famous Ringling Bros. Circus. The weekend will be brimming with concerts, children’s activities, a classic car show, an antique and artisan fair and more. The “center ring of entertainment” is the Big Top Parade, which will step off at 2p.m. on Saturday, featuring over 75 traditional circus parade units and circus-theme entries created by community groups and businesses.

MIDWEST FIRE FEST July 23, 2016 - July 24, 2016 Cambridge An art exploration of all things forged in fire. It will be an event that is heavy in demonstrations. Artist in residence will demonstrate iron pours, pit fired pottery, and a clay sculpture that will be fired during the event and revealed Saturday night in a performance style art event and create a lasting sculpture for the community. A master artist level art show, fire performers, live music and on site concessions will complete the festival atmosphere.

CONCERTS ON THE SQUARE July 28, 2016 Monroe Live music on the lawn of the Historic Green County Courthouse, food and beverage stands, bring your lawn chair for an evening of family fun. Summer series (different music genre each concert) sponsored by Main Street Monroe in partnership with underwriter Colony Brands. Special intermission entertainment at every show.

REEDIKULUS ART CRAWL July 29, 2016 Reedsburg The Reedikulus Art Crawl occurs in conjunction with Reedsburg’s Reedikulus Day – a sun-up to sun-down festival featuring street sales, live music, food vendors and arts activities for kids. This is a FREE family friendly downtown walking tour of art venues including local galleries, shops and vacant storefronts with exhibits of original art from a spectrum of talent including the work of both Sauk County and national artists--with the artists present to interact with visitors. Refreshments for adults and children will be offered for sale along the route. Completing your "Passport" at all stops engages you in quick and simple art-making and qualifies you to enter it in a drawing at the final location. The Art Crawl ends in downtown Reedsburg's beautiful tree-filled City Park with a large scale public art exhibit, live music in the bandstand and food offered for sale by the Reedsburg Revitalization Organization.

LUMBERJACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS July 28, 2016 - July 30, 2016 Hayward The Lumberjack World Championships showcase over 21 events competing for world records in events ranging from men's and women's logrolling, to chopping, to the exciting pole climb. Over 100 plus competitors' vie for more than $50,000 in prize money, making this the largest payback for lumberjack competition in the world.

CHALKFEST July 30, 2016 Eau Claire Imagine a small park overtaken by a day-long firestorm of creativity and positive community energy, culminating in yards and yards of sidewalk space displaying amazing chalk artwork. This event will take place all day. In the evening, once its dark, there will be a large Night-Light Reception where the whole park, the water fountain, and all the trees will be illuminated from above and below while people view the finished work, meet the artists and mingle. It's part urban art festival, part sophisticated evening event and part family-friendly fun.
