THE AUXILIARY BAROMETER OCTOBER 2018 UNITY President’s Message Our upcoming Annual Meeting will be November 6th at Lakeside Inn in the Timber Topper at 11am to 2pm. This meeting you will be voting for your leadership in 2019. I thank the Nominating Committee, Louise Mitchell, Chair, Vicki Schussel, Carol McInnes, Sandra Olivo and Larry Coffman, for their work. A ballot will be made available at the luncheon with instructions for voting. I can personally say cheese ball making can be fun, last month our group cheerfully made 707 cheeseballs. Come join us on October 21st at 8:30am in the Mountain Cafe as we make 700 more. If you are coming to join us please remember that the only entrance that will be open is through the Emergency Department. The Joint Commission had just been here at the hospital and one of the observation areas was hand hygiene and I was told that there was not one negative incident observed, so congratulations to the Barton Target 100 program. More information from the commission report will be coming. Barton Hospital updateL: Pharmacy, MRI replacement and Roofing projects are moving along per Dr. Purvance. Dr. Purvance shared that Barton continues negotiation in good faith with the California Nurses Association. The hospital’s biggest project for 2019 will be the installation of the new SPECT/CT scanner. Look forward to seeing you at the November 6th meeting.
