DANCING WITH THE ‘STROS EVENT SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
THE ASTROS FOUNDATION

We know they have the stuff to make it in the Big
Leagues but now it’s time to see what they can bring to
the dance floor. Come watch the 2013 Astros players
switch out their cleats for dancing shoes!
The inaugural 2013 “Dancing with the ‘Stros” will pair
Astros players with professional dancers to music of
their choosing. They will perform in front of a panel of
some of Houston’s toughest critics - their teammates!
Includes wine, beer, signature cocktails and appetizers.
This is one event that you will not want to miss!
DATE: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 Doors will open to ticketed patrons only at 6:30 pm
and the show will begin at approximately 7:30pm
(subject to end time of Astros vs. Angels game).
EVENT TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE.
VENUE: HOUSE OF BLUES 1204 Caroline Street, Houston, TX 77002

DANCING WITH THE ‘STROS

This charitable fundraiser will benefit free programs for at-risk youth offered by the Astros Urban Youth
Academy in the Acres Homes section of Northwest Houston.
DANCING WITH THE ‘STROS COMPETITION: RULES OF THE GAME
• Four (4) current Astros players will compete on stage in a “dance off” as judged by other current
members of the Astros 2013 team.
• Each of the four (4) dancers will be partnered with a professional dancer and each competitor will
have only 60 minutes to develop and practice their routine. The four Astros “dancers” will select their
own recorded musical track and will work with a professional choreographer on a performance in a
style of their choice (salsa, swing, hip-hop, creative ballroom dancing, etc…). Each performance will last
approximately 2 ½ minutes.
• The Astros players serving as judges will be on stage. After each performance, the judges will hold
up a card rating the player’s performance on a scale of zero to ten (worst to best). Extra bonus points
may be added for courage, determination, creativity, and humor. Technical dancing skills are unlikely to
be the highlight of the evening.
• The fierce athletic competition will result in one Grand Prize Winner. Players will be awarded various
consolation prizes based on their performance, and the winner will have bragging rights and a special
trophy proudly displayed in the Astros clubhouse.
• The event may include a VIP Cocktail Reception for a select number of guests and sponsors are
invited in prior to the start of the fundraiser to enjoy the players’ brief rehearsal with their professional
dance partner.

“Whether it’s in the
Major League or
Little Leagues,
baseball teaches
important life
lessons, like
perseverance, hard
work…how to leave
home and return
home safely.
I’m proud to work
with The Astros
Foundation so all
kids have the
chance to learn
these lessons.”
– Jose Altuve,
