The Meeting

Make sure that you have had ample opportunity to review the candidate’s resume. You do not want to be reading it for the first time in their presence. When reviewing the resume prior to, highlight areas of inquiry and create questions based on the areas you would like to understand more about.

The Meeting

Your goal is to discover what is NOT on paper; you have already reviewed their factual information, now look for more (i.e. their experiences, their personality, how they will enhance the present staff, etc).Understand the candidate’s main priorities and what they are seeking out of their career. Highlight the things within your facility/organization that would be resources and support to achieve those goals. Copyright © 2012 All Rights Reserved Harmony Healthcare International, Inc. 6

Always Remember…

Do and say everything through the eyes of the candidate.Be upbeat and positive!YOU ARE THE ENERGY OF THE INTERVIEW!Regardless of whether or not this candidate is the perfect fit, remain in a high energy, focused and warm place… the healthcare world is very small and the efforts of a good meeting are not only specific to that encounter.

Reasons to exceed expectations…

You are always representing your facility/organization.You are always given the opportunity to grow company rapport and raise the bar.If your candidate wasn’t the right fit for your team, but walks away feeling fabulous about the interview, they will in turn become a resource for future contacts and candidates.

Upon Conclusion of the Meeting…

When walking them out, thank them and set an expectation of the next step.Hand them your business card and reinforce your appreciation of their time and the value you see in them as a candidate. This meeting process takes time and effort to prep and perform, but the return on the investment is a position filled and impressive company exposure, which inevitably effects everyone in the facility positively…from your team to your patients!
