Dear Delegates, Colleagues, and Friends

a fine stretch of the white sand, or commune with the tropical creatures. A blend of spectacular
mountain sceneries and beautiful beaches with warm and friendly people. For these reasons, we
would like to invite you all to explore the magical and mystical Bali where we host the 5th Congress
of Asian Society of Head Neck Oncology in conjunction with 5th Otorhinolaryngology Head and

Bali’s cultural and natural diversity has inspired the Organizing Committee to choose the theme of
this conference as “The Arts of Head and Neck Cancer Management “. The management of Head

Welcome Message from IFHNOS
5th CONGRESS OF ASIAN SOCIETY OF
HEAD AND NECK ONCOLOGY
(ASHNO)
Welcome to Asian Society of Head & Neck Oncology (ASHNO).
ASHNO is a multi-disciplinary society for head & neck oncology, which was initiated in 2008
by the strong leadership of Prof. Hao, the founding president & general secretary.
By the recent advances in medical sciences and technologies, now, multi-
disciplinary approaches are required to enable the personalized therapy for the individual
patients with head and neck cancers. As well known, head and neck cancers in Asian coun-
tries show different biological behaviors and characters from western countries in various
aspects. Thus, it is really an important idea that all the countries in the Asian region get gath-
er and share our experiences and knowledge, in order to boost up our clinical practice to the
next level, to promote clinical and basic researches and to raise the next generations.
Scientific meeting has been held every 2 year. First congress was held in Taipei
(Taiwan 2009), 2nd in Goa (India 2011), 3rd in Cebu (Philippines 2013) and 4th in Kobe (Japan
2015). 5th congress will be held in Bali March 23 to 25, 2017 by the host of Prof. Marlinda
Adham. I am looking forward to see many of you again in the beautiful island!
