When Rattlesnake Phil moved to Arizona from the East, he fell in love with the wide open spaces that Arizona offered. Taking a special interest in the Superstition Mountains, he set out exploring and hasn’t stopped yet. With countless stories to share, a ride-a-long with Phil is an unfolding adventure. Be sure to ask how he got his nickname!
As an avid fan of the history of central Arizona, he reads extensively and attends lectures and programs held around the state. He also knows how to prepare, cook and eat most of the edible desert plants! Laredo Larry has found his dream job with Apache Trail Tours.
Smokey Bill’s love of history and camping drew him to re-enactment groups. A member of several historical re-enactment groups, the Goldfield Gunfighters and the Mohave Muleskinners – you never know what character he will show up as.
From the Smokey Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and now to the Superstition Mountains, Flapjack has always had a bond with the great outdoors. But the legendary Superstition Mountains, Apache Trail and Four Peaks Wilderness have captured and held Flapjack’s full attention. A picture is worth a thousand words – being there becomes priceless on one of his tours.
Originally from California, Dusty fell in love with Arizona when he moved to the White Mountains of Arizona in the 1980’s. As a member of the Goldfield Gunfighters and Mojave Muleskinners, you might find him shooting-it-out in the streets of Goldfield or at the Superstition Mountain Museum.
When most little boys were playing with trucks in a sandbox, The Prospector was digging in the dirt (usually in a neighbor’s back yard) looking for shiny yellow rocks. His quest to locate that elusive “color” in the bottom of his pan stretched from the Superstition Mountains to the Alaskan frontier, long before the reality TV show “Gold Rush” became popular.
As an avid hiking & mountain biking enthusiast, over the last dozen years Angel Eyes has racked up thousands of miles of ‘boots-on-the-ground’ & ‘tires-on-the-trail’ in Arizona, mostly in and around the Superstition Wilderness and Goldfield Mountains.
