Registration and Convention Attire

Adult Registration - $15
Youth Registration (18 & below) - $10
Attire for the convention: Thursday – School Attire, Business Casual
Friday – School Attire, Business Casual
Saturday – Church Shirts
Parade of Churches
Represent Your Church with a banner that no larger than 2x4 in size.
Example: Church name, Mt. Zion AME and motto “The Church where the doors are always open.” The
Church will have two designees to carry the banner and the Pastor & Spouse will lead the way.
Poster Contest
The contest is open to all students ages 2-5, 6-10, 11 -14, 15-18 Each youth may submit only one poster.
Posters are due at time of registration. The Theme is “Get Right for Christ - #Under Construction”.
Poster will be judged based on:
Adherence to the theme - 40 points
Color Contrast - 25 points
Form and Space - 25 points
Neatness - 10 points
Total 100 Points
The back of the poster must include:
Youth’s Name
Youth’s Age
Name of Church
Pastor’s Name
The Participants will be given a number to affix to his or her poster. The posters will be displayed for judging
in the designated area for Poster Contest.

ESSAY WRITING CONTEST
Competitors in Grades 3 – 12 will write an interpretive literary competition focusing on a topic based on
the theme “Get Right for Christ - #Under Construction” given to them on the day of the event. The
competitor will write an essay with no fewer words than their category stipulates.
Grade Categories
Grades 3 – 5 will write at least a 50-word essay
Grades 6 – 8 will write at least a 100-word essay
Grades 9 – 12 will write at least a 200-word essay
Competitors in Grades 3 – 5 will be given 30 minutes to write their essay and 10 minutes to read over what
they have written and make corrections. (Total time allotted 40 minutes)
Competitors in Grades 6 – 8 will be given 30 minutes to write their essay and 15 minutes to read over what
they have written and make corrections. (Total time allotted 45 minutes)
Competitors in Grades 9 – 12 will be given 35 minutes to write their essay and 15 minutes to read over
what they have written and make corrections. (Total time allotted 50 minutes)
Guidelines
1. Each competitor will be awarded points in the following areas:
Related to theme 25 points
Originality 25 points
Logical sequence 20 points (Sentences/ideas are clearly written and in coherent order)
Grammar/Punctuation 20 points
Neatness 10 points
Total points – 100
2. The decisions of the judges are final.
3. Punctuality will be strictly observed.
****Competitors MUST remain in the room the entire time allotted.****
Brain Bowl
Each Church may sponsor one (1) team ages 7-12 and one (1) team ages 13-17 consisting of not more than
three members and three alternates (six members total); see Rules and Guidelines.

Community Outreach
“Fill it Up…so We Can Give it Away” Youth Outreach Project
The “Tremendous” Tampa District is partnering with The Joshua House- Joshua House is a safe haven for abused, abandoned, and neglected
children, offering a therapeutic residential group care program that
provides a protected, nurturing, family-like environment for children six -
seventeen. These children have been removed from their homes due to
crisis and many have been through multiple foster homes. The Joshua
House is located at 1515 Michelin Court, Lutz, FL. 33549
It’s quite simple - it’s filling up a minimum of three (3) bags with a variety of the requested items for the
youth to distribute to the designated centers. The items will be distributed on Friday, June 24th, at 1:00 p.m.
by youth ages 13 and up. The bags may be backpacks, reusable grocery bags, and etc. Bags may be dropped
off on Thursday before the start of worship service.
There are two areas of giving:
1- DAILY NECESSITIES
which includes personal hygiene products and activity items for the children
2- BACK TO SCHOOL
which includes an itemized list of various school supplies
