Problem Statement

Knod and Franklin Covey have partnered together to facilitate Knod students with a leadership course on the Seven Habits of Highly Effective  People. The Seven Habits of Highly Effective people became a blueprint for personal and remarkable set of inspirational standards for anyone who seeks to live full, purposeful and good life and are applicable today more than ever in team development and leadership.

Many academic teams become dysfunctional due to poor communication

and lack proper strategies on team synergy and hence lack interdependence. Therefore academic teams are seeking ways on how to maintain flawless communication and synergy among team members

The task of The Ants team is to assist Knod and Franklin Covey in creating coaching and mentoring strategies that will implement the Franklin Covey 7 Habits to be used in teams throughout their experience and optimize this opportunity and develop skills as part of their DNA.

Background ResearchReview from students after the introduction of the 7 Habits • 71% of students felt that The 7 habits is a must do lecture

course unit at Knod.• Majority were even concerned and asked about the 7 habits

examination test.We also did a follow up after the workshop to determine team

experience• Some members do not keep in touch.• Some members are overwhelmed with team projects.• Some members feel comfortable working alone.

Recommendations • Coaches and learners to establish the goals and

mission for the 7 habits.• It is important to master private victory before

proceeding to public victory.• For members to establish team cohesion and

interdependence they should:• Mutually benefit from each other – think win-win • Listen, give and receive feedback.• Value differences .• Balanced self awareness.
