The annual torch ceremony, also called Pagdiriwang ng Sulo, was held on March 25, 2015 at
the Philippine Normal ni!ersity "PN# $uadrangle% The passing o& the torch has 'een a
tradition o& the uni!ersity since time immemorial%
(t has 'een said that the tradition sym'oli)es the passing o& duties and responsi'ilities 'y the
graduating students to the younger ones who accept with *nowledge and promise that they shall
continue what their elders ha!e started% The Pagdiriwang ng mga Sulo has &our ma+orcharacters,
namely (nang
Pamantasan whorepresents the
PN in its
entirety, (nang-ayan who
represents the
country, .uan
/ela ru) anda*am'ini who
represent the
ilipino and theilipina,
respecti!ely% The
ladies wear ilipiniana while
the gentlemen
wear 'arong tagalog% The only distinction, as to the attire, 'etween the &ourth year and the third
year students lies with the color o& their sash 3 'lue &or the seniors, and pin* &or the +uniors%
The special e!ent was participated not only 'y the students, 'ut also 'y the ni!ersity President,
/r% 4ster -% gena, the 6ice Presidents, the /eans and 7ssociates /eans, and the /irectors o&the ni!ersity%
The ceremony started at 8 o9cloc* in the e!ening and ended a'out an hour later with a
magni&icent &irewor*s 'ursting in the air%
