→ INTRODUCTION

Since its creation in 2007, the Chaire Mutations de l’Action publique et du Droit Public (MADP) of Sciences Po Paris has focused on the legal instruments required for modernising public action. The activities of the Chaire have notably been characterised by their comparative law approach and by an interest in the phenomenon of legal globalisation. The work of the Chaire has e.g. explored the contractualisation of executive action, changes in public finances, contracting out phenomena, the increasing role of local authorities and public policy evaluation. Building on this past work, the closure conference of the Chaire MADP of 21 and 22 June 2018 will be an opportunity to discuss and reflect about the future of administrative law in Europe and elsewhere. What are the forces for change and what changes will they bring about? Where will evolutions be observed most clearly? What are the main challenges that lie ahead? The conference aims, in other words, at imagining the future of administrative law.
