Revolutionary new Innovision Cockpit.Ahead of its time. That’s how it feels when you press the start button in the new Touareg, waking

up the new Innovision Cockpit. The innovative Digital Cockpit and large touchscreen for the

“Discover Premium” navigation system open the door to countless new dimensions in every

respect. And that’s not just because they merge together to form a futuristic control centre thanks

to the One-Screen Design. A switch-free user interface, touch and gesture control, as well as a

variety of customisation options enhance this impression and give the user even more design

options, for instance when it comes to the user interface. It’s pretty amazing when your dreams for

the future are brought to life in the present.

02 With the innovative gesture control function, you have a simple and convenient way to operate the “Discover Premium” or “Discover Pro” navigation system. You can control a number of menu options with a simple horizontal gesture. For instance, you can switch to the next song or radio station by just waving your hand.

The all-new Touareg - Interior

Its huge 38.1 cm (15 inch) glass-covered touchscreen with colour display forms a single visual unit with the 31.2 cm (12.3 inch) Digital Cockpit for the first time, covered by a curved glass window.

Thanks to a proximity sensor and innovative gesture control, the operating concept is incredibly intuitive. A simple horizontal gesture is all it takes to control a range of menu options. The system has a 10 GB memory and also comes with map material for New Zealand and FM radio reception. Two SD card slots, an AUX-IN socket, 4 USB ports and a Bluetooth-based mobile phone interface complete the Infotainment experience.

04 The “Discover Pro” radio navigation system with the standard App-Connect function comes with a 23.4 cm (9.2 inch) glass-covered touchscreen with colour display, proximity sensor and innovative gesture control for fully intuitive control. As a result, you can operate a whole range of menu options with a single horizontal gesture.

The system also has installed map material for New Zealand, FM radio reception, an SD card slot and a USB port.

05 The head-up display can show vehicle information directly in the driver’s line of sight. The speed, driver assist system functions, warnings and navigation instructions are projected onto the windscreen. This lets you read all the important information immediately while retaining your focus on the road.

06 The new Touareg redefines ambience with its range of 30 different colours for the background lighting.

A level of relaxation that’s exciting: the interior.A wide array of customisation options make sure the interior of the Touareg lives up to your high

expectations but also your personal preferences. New decorative inserts, and trim including a new,

optional pneumatic massage chair function is featured for the first time in the Touareg. Users can

select from eight modes that offer variable control of intensity and are implemented by individual

air cushions. The spacious interior of the Volkswagen Touareg remains a luxurious comfort zone.

The rear seating system provides 160 mm of longitudinal adjustment to create even more space at

the rear. Cargo capacity is also increased to 810 litres in the new VW Touareg. This offers 113 extra

litres of boot capacity than the previous model.

A new kind of driving experience.

You may not expect a luxury SUV to deliver such sporty performance, but the new Touareg doesn’t disappoint.

Electro-mechanical active anti-roll stabilisation steered with a high-voltage 48 Volt system reacts more quickly and at

lower speeds than conventional stabilisers, reducing lateral tilt and understeer. So, you can drive with precision and

agility, even on rough terrain. Even cornering on country roads and parking on city streets just got a whole lot easier,

thanks to the new Touareg’s all-wheel steering. The rear wheels steer along with the front wheels. Not only does this

give you a smaller turning circle, it also increases your driving stability, so you can drive more dynamically with

increased agility.

pleasure. A range of intelligent driver1) assist systems can also help you to tackle unexpected traffic

situations with ease. And you can even manage it in the dark thanks to Night Vision.

1) The all new Touareg is equipped with the most innovative driver assistance systems. However, these systems are NOT designated for autonomous driving in any way. The assisting functionalities are underlying certain limits that are outlined in the owner’s manual. Therefore, the driver is strictly advised to drive the vehicle with full attention and has to keep his/her hands on the wheel at all times. 2) Within the system’s limits. 3) Up to max. 210 km/h.

09 For the Night Vision function, an infra-red camera scans around 130 metres in front of the vehicle and responds to heat emitted by bodies. The heat images are displayed on the instrument cluster or in the Digital Cockpit. You will be warned by the system if the situation is critical. This means that you have an additional source of information to help you to identify a person, or maybe even an animal, on the road – especially when visibility is impaired by fog or rain. This helps you to react more quickly to hazards.2)

10 The proactive occupant protection system is able to intervene if the vehicle finds itself in a critical situation. It uses information from different vehicle and assist systems and their sensors to detect this. When a hazard is detected, various safety mechanisms are triggered depending on the situation. The front belts are tensioned, the doors are sealed and the windows and panorama roof are closed. In the event of a head-on collision, the rear hazard lights flash at a high frequency.2)

11 The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), can help you to maintain a set maximum speed3) and a minimum distance to the vehicle in front. The system uses journey data to calculate the ideal speed for cornering.2) As a result, your ride experience is enhanced.

12 The Front Cross Traffic Assist uses radar sensors in the front of the vehicle. They monitor the area in front of your vehicle and warn you visually and acoustically as soon as the system detects crossing traffic when driving at up to 30 km/h. Should another vehicle approach from outside your field of view and your new Touareg moves forward at a speed of up to 10 km/h, then emergency braking can be triggered to avoid a collision.2) Front Cross Traffic Assist therefore helps you to pull out of blind exits and drive into intersections where there is poor visibility.

13 Be prepared in an emergency: with the “Emergency Assist” assist system, which partially takes over control of your vehicle in a medical emergency. It is activated when it registers no activity on the part of the driver. If the driver still fails to respond once the system has emitted a warning, it can attempt to revive the driver while alerting other passengers and other road users. If the vehicle remains out of control, the system uses the lane change system to steer the vehicle and bring it to a stop depending on the traffic.2)

14 Added comfort, even in a traffic jam. Traffic Jam Assist enables semi-automatic1) driving in traffic jams, helping you to avoid typical accidents in stop-and-go traffic.¹⁾ The system keeps the vehicle in lane and automatically operates the accelerator and brake.2)
