Who is this for?

Adults wanting more information on hyperlipidemia &/or hypertension (cholesterol & high blood pressure)

Adults living with or have a family history of high cholesterol or blood pressure Family members and caregivers welcome.

What will I learn?

Increase knowledge and understanding of cholesterol and blood pressure Improve understanding of risk factors & impact on health Understand the relationship between diet and cholesterol and blood pressure levels Identify healthy/low fat and low sodium food choices Increase understanding of self-management

Who is this for?

Adults who are newly diagnosed with pre-diabetes or Type 2 Diabetes, or wanting a refresher on current information on diabetes

Focus is mainly on Type 2 diabetes; however general information on Type 1 and gestational diabetes is also included

Family members and caregivers welcome What will I learn?

Supervised Exercise Program

Who is this for?

Adults 18 yrs and older at risk of, or living with, a chronic condition and leading a sedentary lifestyle (i.e. exercising less than 3 times per week)

What will I learn?

Incorporate physical activity in their lives Learn safe and effective exercise designed specifically for you To increase energy, strength, endurance, flexibility, and balance

Program Overview (8 weeks, twice per week – 1.5 hour sessions)

The goal is to provide guidance and expertise to participants regarding safe and effective exercise

A supervised exercise program offered in a non-intimidating social atmosphere and designed to your specific needs and goals, promoting independence and self-evaluation

Initial attendance includes an exercise assessment and prescription by the Exercise Therapist

Exercise sessions include a self-assessment, warm-up, cardio component, resistance training, balance, and flexibility exercises
