The adventures of

Little Max By Paola Sánchez

and Jessica Xitumul

Max was a boy He owned an airplane toy,

He dreamed of flying

And never got tired of trying.

One day he woke up,

And he was in a world made up. The moon was shining in the

sky, When the sun

came by, to take Max up

high.

Max wasn’t scared,

As if he had always been prepared. The sun wasn’t as bright,

Less when it took flight.

Looking ahead from his seat,

A man offered him a treat.

The man was wearing blue,

And said: “How are you?” Max looked confused,

But the man was amused. “I am Captain Harris”,

the man said And Max said “What are

you?” instead. The man was a captain, a

sailor of the sky But Max didn’t answer, he was waiting a reply.

“My job is driving airplanes, guess who am

I?”

Captain Harris hearing tummy noises came to a stop,

And got off the Sun with a plop. A girl in white was waiting down,

Pretty as a princess but not wearing a crown. Max got off the Sun, and sniffed some bread He imagined it with peanut butter spread.

Tummy noises turned louder, and the girl said: “If Max is your name, I got you a special bread.”

The girl’s name was Marla, And it rhymed with Darla, That’s what Max thought

when eating his bread. Then, Marla said: “If I prepare bread, what I am it’s unsaid.”

Finishing Max’s spread, a different

man walked in Speaking with a

loud voice, he said his name was Finn. Finn is holding a

bag full of letters,

But at first Max thought they were sweaters.

“Is Max here?” Finn asked to the three of them,

Max looked up and cleaned his hands with his shirt’s hem.

“I am here” Max said, raising his hand And Finn gave him an envelope, it was

grand.

The letter was from his

dad, But he signed

as Brad. Max knew that was his name, they shared

it. Reading he missed him,

Max threw a fit.

Captain Harris felt sad, and started to unpack.

Pulled out a teddy bear, And felt Max’s stare.

He gave it to Max, and told him there was only little time

For them to get home, just had to get up the climb.

Back on his house, Max laid down on his bed And placed on a pillow his tired head.

He remembered Captain Harris, Marla and Finn And wanted to dream of them, so his lips turned

in a grin. Such great adventure Max had,

He even ride on a Sun, he was so glad.
