The Advent of E-learning

E-learning, or online electronic learning, is an increasingly popular alternative to attending classes in person. While some students initially miss the interactions of the classroom, they soon discover the many advantages of the online model.

Some of the Advantages of E-learning

First of all, e-learning affords convenience. Many students, especially older ones, find that they have to juggle work and family with education. With an online course, they may attend class after work or when

their children are sleeping.

Secondly, since all materials are online, a student can sometimes avoid purchasing textbooks or taking copious amounts of written notes.

Finally, it is arguable that e-learning is an even more effective way to learn, because there is considerable interaction between the students. Weekly discussion boards provide a forum for the class to discuss

the lessons all week long, in contrast to a live course where students interact only once or twice weekly.
